Re: Silverfox FX One Repair

Got another derailleur, also bent, so I give up with it now.

I'll just use it 'as is' until something fails.

I watched that just the other evening when it popped up on my suggested videos.

Interesting how he forgot how to ride a real bike.

Re: Front and Rear Derailleur needed

Shimano thumb shifters, just a friction type on the front one.

I've noticed it does seem to shift if I'm on a sensible rear cog, maybe thats just how it is.

Re: Front and Rear Derailleur needed

With the H screw turned right out so it's not affecting the movement, it just about manages to get to the largest chain ring on the front, it's like the front derailleur doesn't have enough throw.

It's a 3x6 and the derailleur is meant to be for that.

The derailleur is set perpendicular to the chain set.

Re: Front and Rear Derailleur needed

I got another rear derailleur, a shimano tourney tz500 and it seems to work fine compared to the POS the chinese seller sent me.

The front derailleur, I am now able to move over all 3 cogs, but its pretty tough to get to the top one, is that normal?

Front and Rear Derailleur needed

I was duped by an eBay seller with shoddy knockoffs/poorly refurbished shimano parts.

So which sites have genuine shimano parts and what should I be buying for a 3x6 gearset?

The FD is top pull, the large cog looks like 42t, the rear freewheel is a 14-28t.

To be used with TX30 shifters.

Thanks

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair

I've tried it and it's too long so it interferes with the spokes.

Can anyone help me find the right one?

Edit: seems like cheap Chinese knock-off, the issue is a massive amount of play in the derailleur itself, annoyed I'd wasted so much time on it.

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair

Is this rear derailleur going to be compatible with my bike as the jockey wheel look bigger and it seems to use a slightly different mount point on the derailleur itself.

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair

I've replaced the freewheel, shifting still isn't perfect but hoping new derailleurs will sort that.

You can pretty much go on autotrader and search for whatever you want and get a reg, so I really dont see the point in obscuring it.

Re: Unknown symbol next to power bar display

Its the shift recommendation, up arrow means change up, down means change down.
