Setting the Assistance Level
The level of assistance of the eBike drive when pedaling can
be adjusted via the HMI. The assistance level can be changed
anytime, even during riding.
Note: For individual versions, it is possible that the the assistance level is pre-set and cannot be changed. It is also possible that less assistance levels are available for selection than
listed here.
The following assistance levels (max.) are available:
– “OFF”: The drive is switched off, the eBike can be operated as a normal bicycle through pedaling.
– “ECO”: Effective assistance at maximum efficiency for
maximum cruising range
– “TOUR”: Uniform assistance, for touring with long cruising
range
– “SPORT”: Powerful assistance for sportive riding off road
as well as for urban traffic
– “TURBO”: Maximum assistance, supporting highest cadence for sportive riding
To increase the assistance level, press the “+” button 13 on
the operating unit until the desired assistance level is displayed in indicator b; to decrease the assistance level, press
the “–” button 12.
The requested motor output is displayed in indicator a. The
maximum motor output depends on the selected assistance
level.
When the HMI is removed from holder 4, the last indicated assistance level is stored; the motor-output indicator a remains
empty.
The battery is fully charged.
The battery should be recharged.
Assistance Level Assistance Factor*
“ECO” 40 %
“TOUR” 100 %
“SPORT” 150 %
“TURBO” 225 %

As a complete noob, what grease do I need and what parts typically need greasing?

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair
Whilst I've been waiting for the bits to come (I've ordered new shifters, and front and rear derailleurs now too). I've been watching the excellent videos from Park Tool, I've managed to service my brakes and attempt to adjust the indexing on my rear derailleur but still having issues with that, so I've decided to swap for new bits, so I know that I'm not working with bent or defective parts, also the front shifter is falling apart anyway.

To my eyes there is some wear on the freewheel and so it won’t work well with a new chain (you replaced the chain). As Chain and Freewheel wear together they need to be replaced at the same time. The assumption is made that the derailleur is tensioning the chain (as it should) and that the chain length is correct.
The next stage is to somehow get that freewheel off and once removed to then purchase and fit a replacement. Is the freewheel fitted a shimano copy? If so then I’d fit a shimano replacement of the same number of gears and tooth range.
I will try and get a replacement 6 speed shimano freewheel and see what happens, I feel like the derailleur will need replacing at some point but one thing at a time
I went out for a ride earlier, and my main issue is chain skip on the smallest gear when you load the pedals on anything other than a flat piece of road.

Because it's a relatively low end head set.Tighten the bottom collar with a pair of mole grips so that there is no play but the bars turn freely and then whilst holding the collar clamp the nut down on to this with a large adjustable spanner.
thanks, got it sorted now.
edit: replacement shimano 14t/28t freewheel and tool on its way!

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair
I've had another look and took more photos, its definitely Power China, there are 12 splines and the diameter across the middle is 40mm (picture looks odd due to angle taken)
I'm starting to think the freewheel doesn't actually look that bad.

Re: How were they stolen?
I left it propped again the shop windows for 5 minutes where I work, I had a funny feeling, looked outside and it had gone.
Opportunistic theft, but the guy I suspected of stealing it, had spoken to me minutes earlier asking where a certain location within our town was (it was the other end), so he was a good candidate.
I jumped in my car, drove around the area for a bit, found him, parked up and ran after him and took the bike back off him.
The bike isn't even desirable, but I have a cheap barrel lock now.

Wording on the freewheel says Power China.
It looks like this is the tool I would need https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bicycle-Remova ... 00UYW0YNC/

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair
How do I find out what make of freewheel it is? There are not markings on the side I can see, and I don't have any way to remove it without a freewheel tool, hence my question about whether they are universal.
I have priced up Shimano parts to replace shifters and derailleurs and it's about £32.

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair
Are the freewheel tools universal? I don't want to end up buying one thing and finding I need something else.
I think the cables most likely need replacing too.

Re: Silverfox FX One Repair
There are 6 cogs on the rear wheel, I think its a freewheel as you get the ratchet sound when you stop pedalling?
Why would I need to replace the chain again when it wasn't done that long ago?

Silverfox FX One Repair
I rescued this bike from going to the tip, all it needed at the time to get it working, was a new inner tube and a chain.
I've been using it since, but it isn't without it's niggles, the rear derailleur is missing one of its adjustment screws so the chain can fall off the lowest (smallest cog) gear, also, the teeth on the rear cassette are somewhat bent out of shape causing the chain to skip when the pedals are under load in certain gears.
The brakes seem pretty poor but I don't have anything to compare it to, it's also nigh on impossible to get the chain on to the largest cog on the front gear, not that I really need to use that one.
My question is, how much would it cost to replace the rear cassette derailleur and is it even worth it? I don't really know if this is a 'good' bike but it doesn't seem bad for tootling around on.
