Re: Jihadi Brides and their Children.
If she comes back and if she serves some prison time, it seems to me that she will be so well known that she will have to be provided with a new identity. She will probably be unemployable since she will have no skills to offer. All of this is a drain on a country that she has not contributed to. T...

Re: 150,000miles?
150,000 miles is a very impressive figure, my goal is 100,000 think I am up to about 72,000. Bought bike 1989 and commuted for 9 years (until mortgage paid off and being able to afford a second car) covering an estimated 24,000 mile then gave the bike up until 2008 when I started to ride it to get o...

Re: Heat shrink gun
I have a 40€ Boschn hot-air gun that works quite nicely. Useful for other stuff too, e.g. roasting coffee, heating a bit of pipe to bend wood over, filling paper bags that then head for outer space next-door's garden. perfect for sorting out the bike after long wet days on the road, good for drying...

Re: Earths falling population....
Even amidst the deadliest global virus modern society has ever seen, world population has increased by a whopping 44,000,000 so far this year. The plague of humans infecting the planet is far from in decline. Meanwhile it is estimated that 100 - 200 species go extinct every single day with a further...

Curlews when up on the moor roads in the late evening - just haunting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3UBH_M_LGk Moorland bird noises are all good, Lapwings and that strange drumming noises Jack Snipe make. Not in these parts but wild camping up in the far north west, Ptarmigan - now that is an odd...

Cycling Insurance
Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding insurance not interested in theft, pot hole damage, tears to clothing loss of gadgets (what ever they might be) . But would like a third party cover in case my actions ever caused a loss to another, and would like full legal protection to fight my...

you can get their details from DVLA
https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla
You can ask for details of another vehicle’s registered keeper. You’ll need a ‘reasonable cause’, for example:
finding out who was responsible for an accident

Re: A1-Bamburgh/Northumberland.
It's lovely around Shilbottle, Guyzance etc but the coastal route (A 1068?) is signed as a tourist route and in normal times attracts tourists. Indeed, that area around Guyzance is still a joy. the 1068 - as a child (10 yo late 60s) me and my mates used to regularly pedal along that road (what wher...

Re: A1-Bamburgh/Northumberland.
There's been a lot of tinkering about with this length of the A1 including "improvements" at junctions but I think nothing significant has been done on the long-term assumption that eventually it will become motorway, (which increasingly looks to be mistaken.) The good news is that the go...

Re: A1-Bamburgh/Northumberland.
You should not have any problems at those junctions, yes the A1 in Northumberland can be fast and is no place for cyclists, but in comparison to down south it is quiet. If in doubt just get off the bike and walk over. There are a few staggered junctions on the A1 that I occasionally use where I have...

NA. I've given my Black friend as and example(actually he's of mixed race but to anyone who doesn't know him ormhis background would describe him as Black African in appearance). We're talking about a very intelligent man of good character, not given to anger, confrontation or violence,in fact he'd r...
