i tried to post a comment on the times /parris article mentioning incitement to kill/commit murder but they didn't add it for some reason!!

i've done the pcc complaint emailed red ken and emailed the met. police but to be honest i feel he's either going to get off with it or get a minor telling off.
cyclist's lives are cheap, just a dirty mark to be washed off the car at the end of the journey.

Contacting head office does no good at all, especially when they still get our money. (Up 'til now that is).

I think there was tongue-in-cheek stuff there. A bit like the grumpy shop keeper saying how much he'd enjoy his work if wasn't for customers.

to a certain extent ,yes you're right. but it's disappointing when you meet people who joined the ctc and never got the welcome pack so never rejoined ,or people who did recieve the welcome pack, got no reminder to renew and went eslewhere.
one club i know used to use the ctc for insurance but after being messed about didn't bother, most of the 60 or so members went elsewhere.
to non club riders using the ctc for insurance the membership dept is their only contact, if they get bad service they won't come back.

threads like this shouldn't exist if the membership department wrere doing their jobs right.

Jamesy wrote:To be honest, I don't think the people who run the club give a hoot about the membership, and won't until the numbers start to fall. As long as the revenue is there to maintain their positions, little will change I fear.

i sometimes feel that the members are a hinderance to the smooth running of the club.
my son has started riding agian and is about to join, maybe he'd be better off joining bc?

you could use a short length of "heat shrink" used on electrical wires.

I'm using full size xtr v's with a travel agent adaptor and normal levers , i find they work well and give lots of mudguard clearance
bike+ sell them, they're listed under brake spares.

i use a hose ,avoiding the bearings, hose and "bog brush" -new one! to clean the wheels.dry off with a rag and use kitchen roll on the chain.
when it's dry put it in the bike stand to clean up with a soft cloth. oil chain an then wipe off any excess, then oil again and wipe again.

pretty sure it's the cable at the bolt, it was on randalls.

Mick you were right. cable attached wrongly at the rear end, anyway Dave's levers are over priced  Thanks everyone else for your comments

 you're risking excommunication from the club if he reads that :D :D

i spent nearly half an hour trying to set up my campag rear mech before going on the campag site and reading the instructions. within 5 minutes it was indexed perfectly.
a clubmate bought a pair of ergos off me and couldn't get them to index. i must have moved the cable about 1 mm and it indexed perfectly.
it seems setup is very sensitive
