Re: escooters get contolled in France

Handling probably indeed poor - but so much cooler than a mobility scooter! And it's pretty much a straight line from home to shops.

Re: How was Cycling 2019 for you?

Not too bad. Modest I know, but just over 4000 miles so far the highest annual since 2012, despite being away sans bike for 6 weeks and ever decreasing lung volume. Just be careful.this is exactly how I felt before the incident. Ran out of breath cycling on the flat and walking across town. Gp sent...

Re: How was Cycling 2019 for you?

Not too bad. 4145 miles, my highest since 2012, despite more holidays than usual. At 71 with almost-extreme COPD, do for me!

Re: Boris Johnson: Why is a proven liar in power?

It's sad and salutary seeing people getting what they actually voted for rather than what they thought they voted for. I think most of them knew exactly what they voted for, their only disappointment will be if the Tories fail to be quite as racist and anti-immigrant as they hope(d) for. Johnson wi...

Re: Where to go to flee b****t (This Madness) or jockxit

I am not going to be driven out by this nasty gang: I lived here through the Thatcher years and I refuse to let de Piffle take my country away from me. You should have a "stay " option. Pretty much same here. This is "my" country, not that of the extreme right now in power. No s...

Re: Puncture resistant tyres for my road bike

On the grounds that ANY will succumb some time I go for easiest go get off/on with cold wet hands when they do! And carry two tubes and half a dozen gas canisters.

Re: Bar end mirror

Can these things (or any like them) be fitted to straight handlebars? Wife has arthritis in shoulder, back and knees, and rear-checking is difficult so we thought about a mirror before but everything seemed geared for drop bars. Something that clamps on would probably be best as I don't like the id...

Re: Bar end mirror

Having fitted a Mirricycle mirror (insert into flat barred bike) a few weeks ago I find myself thinking...."why oh why did I not do this years ago?" Apart from first one or two m'cycles that I had decades ago I always used mirrors on PTWs, so why didn't I on pedal machines? Just so useful....

I've been considering moving to Italy for the past few years, and this week, this election and the way its been conducted has helped make my mind up. ..................This nationalistic, one white nation darkness has been a long time coming. "Unfortunately the Labour Party chose an us or them stance and that has lead to them being excluded from Government for the next five years ......"

A whole lot longer than that I'm sure.

Re: Goodbye Old England - It's Time We Were Gone

More like, "Hello old England". It'll soon be back to intolerance of every ilk & tittle, open class warfare, jingoism and all the fine sentiments of the Victorian era albeit with no empire to nod to as a badge of Blighty racial superiority. How long before the first popular war? It'll...
