Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

"That requires a vote of no confidence to pass, which needs either conservatives to vote against their own government or the DUP, risking a Corbyn government. Of the potential outcomes, I think that's least likely of all."

No. I shop daily! No reserves of anything. I shall buy whatever there is and/or leave it to the experts i.e. eat at Wetherspoons 1/4 mile away!

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

I suspect that with some soft(ening) amendments and the Tory establishment's instinct for self preservation TM's version of the Deal will pass.

Re: Jayden Moodie

Most forum members live in leafy suburbs, I imagine, including me, and do not know much about this, right? Imagine away. I certainly don't. Nor I. Practically hear the gun fire from St Anns when it went thro' a really hard phase. But not I know like parts of London and a few other places suffering ...

".... who, under international law, have to be admitted and processed." Soon put a stop to THAT once we've got rid of EU law. Regain full control over who comes in - and who we decide to deport and never mind niceties like citizenship: wrong colour, away with 'em. That's what many Brexit s...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Two such diametrically opposed views of the world, of right and wrong, there can never be a middle ground. Straightforward moral distinction. Does one believe in peace or war? In human rights or the right of might and power? In unity or conflict? At at least an attempt at greater equality or in gros...

"Ok so you really think a 14 year old riding a Moped on the road in London is going to be legit." More than one level of "legit". Most of them don't IMO deserve the death sentence. Not even me and my then mate Simmy deserved that for 2 up, no licence, on a non-street legal Tiger ...

"Port Of Dover 2017
Coaches 79,368 - not a huge number but considerable potential for delays if full border controls imposed.
Road Haulage Vehicles 2,180,611" Probably not spread evenly across 7 days per week, so between 7 - 10,000 per day.

And how many HGVs in today's trials......

Re: It's March 29th, 23h00: What happens next?

This diversion into air con is most reassuring. I now know that Brexit will have no effects whatsoever on my life - altho' my very old Mondeo does I think have such an accessory, I've never really known what it does and have never dared press the button. I shall shortly be without a car for the firs...

" They have territorial rights to the north sea...."

No, the UK has territorial rights to the N Sea. IMO HMG would be of the view that those rights remain with the UK!

So far 54% of those polled think that there will be negative consequences of the exit on the 29th Do they? Have you asked them that? The most popular option, your 3. Slow, withering break up of the United Kingdom Might well be someone else's long dreamed of and campaigned for independence. Its 56% ...

Re: It's March 29th, 23h00: What happens next?

Interesting isn't it? If we "crash out" deal-less (or very hard) and then the better brave new world does not materialise (which it won't), then scapegoats will have to be found. Remainers will be convenient - "they sabotaged the process, which otherwise would have been heaven on eart...
