Re: Did you cycle to school?

Most of us rode our BMXs to comprehensive school in the early 80s.It was only a couple of miles but we always detoured on the way home  IIRC no one locked their bikes up as they were secure(ish) inside the school.
I also had a "racer" but that was for proper rides.

Re: The whole glasses thing

The Optilabs Drivewear have just arrived and as MickF stated the lenses have a slight tint.I can see fine indoors with them and I'm going to test them in the car later. So long as I can see to read indoors in low light I think they'll be OK.Optilabs sent me the old Photochromic lenses for so I'll tak...

Not heard of it but I would imagine if you're willing to pay for a coffin large enough then I couldn't see why not!?

Re: 2020 Tour de France

Do you mean Mathieu Van der Poel? I think he's signed to Alpecin-Fenix until end of 2023. Since when does signing a contract mean anything in sport  :?: Fracky Placky man can probably afford to buy him out of it, but there's no report that they have, is there? I think Jamesh might be confused...

Re: Where can I find out if .....

I think given your circumstances I would not worry too much about speed/averages etc and just enjoy the fact that you are able to get out and ride! Losing weight will make you a little faster but not that much. I'm currently 5'6 and 13st.Two years ago I was 15st 4lbs.Although a little quicker it jus...

Blimey-how quaint!I presume your other halves are unaware of your preferences.Do you put boxers on washing-line to allay fears of neighbours?  My wife is well aware of this. To be honest I've never actually thought about the washing line thing! Try it.Once you have you'll never go back!

Re: irony of selling a plastic cap from China to highlight climate change

I find it astonishing that you never wear undewear. You must change your trousers and/or skirts daily, and have quite a bill at dry-cleaners.I would happily give you 50p to fund some kegs. I'm male so don't wear skirts  I don't wear or even own any trousers either an have never had anything dry...

Postby Lakelander » 17 Sep 2020, 6:21pm If it does the job and is breathable who really cares what it’s made of.I know I don’t. Re: Tai-chi as a tool for growing old

It's a con. Designed for those who think that, by waving their arms around gently for five minutes, it will make them fitter - it won't. Just a psychological cop-out (oo, just look at me, exercising ...). Did you come to this conclusion from practicing Tai Chi or have you just written it off from o...

Re: The whole glasses thing

Puzzled about photochromatic not dimming in the car. Mine do. Zeiss lenses, though, which are more expensive. It's variable, but the underlying cause is the partial absorption of UV by the car's glazing. https://www.google.com/search?q=why+photochromics+don%27t+work+inside+cars Jonathan I've always...
