Re: Out-and-back or circuit?

Whatabout walking routes compared to cycling routes? I tend to walk circuits rather than out-and-back Why? Why walk circuits but ride out-and-back? I walk circuits for the same reason I ride circuits. So many options. Out-and-back,whether walking or riding, gives only one option. Take yesterday for i...

Re: Garmin Connect - ransomware victim?

Connect is working fine now,Forerunner 45 and IOS but I still have the "server maintenance" pop-up?
Connect IQ appears to be OK but I've tried a couple of times to download new watch faces without success.
Possibly still got a few little Gremlins to get rid of?

Re: Pointless gesture - or simple genius?

I think the money would be better spent creating a more positive image of cycling in the UK. One step at a time......... Cycling’s image isn’t, I think, that bad and many people can imagine themselves cycling too, but they haven’t quite turned imagination into reality. What’s missing is something t...

Re: To help, or not to help?

Even roadside jobs are a nightmare at present though. You’ve got to keep distanced, and you can’t lend them tools, because of the plague. I've found that all that goes out of the window when someone is roadside in need of help  I generally do work colleagues, neighbours bikes etc. It's usually ...

Re: ...about lead times for custom builds?

The last bike I bought built at a shop was a Planet-X RT58 about 6 years ago.The lead time was around 6 weeks.Planet-X buy everything in bulk so have all the parts at hand. So why 6 weeks? At that time Planet-X were building 300+ bikes per week. All bikes were built in their Rotherham Workshop. They ...

Re: Garmin Connect - ransomware victim?

Seems to be back up but I assume my Zwift ride from Thu has disappeared into the ether. If it's saved on your unit it will still be there. Garmin Connect on IOS is sort of working but the Connect IQ App is still down. No, it's saved on Zwift but uploads to GC at the end of the ride. Today's has gon...

Re: Out-and-back or circuit?

Circuit.
I would agree the view is different each way on an out-and-back but I prefer the variety of a circuit.
The only out-and-back I do is Cap de Formentor,Majorca.Truly stunning both ways.

Re: Shopping on the High Street

Unfortunately, IME there's little consistency in clothing and footwear sizing between makes and even formerly reliable firms like M&S no no longer achieve consistency with their own brands. I suppose it depends what you wear. IME Jeans are jeans are jeans.I tend to stick to the same brand. A T-...

Re: Shopping on the High Street

Buying clothes without being able to try them on is crazy, but whatabout ordering an expensive cycle without trying it? Madness! I don't need to try on clothes.I know what size I am! I have been wearing the same brand/style of trainers since the early 80's.I was a size 8 then and still am no...

Re: ** The thread for Rants & Odds and Sods **

Mask Day the 24th July. Astonished to still see some people without them on the trains and also in Lidls. One I remember on the over ground in London was a lithe latino girl showing too much cleavage , clearly for her a mask would conceal her good looks so to not wear one a fashion/beauty statement...
