Re: Back to work?

. I personally don't know anyone furloughed and getting their pay made up to 100%. I do. I do. Certain departments at work have been/are furloughed. The company is making the Govts 80% up to 100% percent of actual pay and not just up to £2500 as per Govt promise! A bit annoying for those of us who a...

Re: Jihadi Brides and their Children.

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to let her back in the UK. Other people do for reasons given up thread. Yes and that's their POV this is mine She went,of her own free will,to join a Terrorist organisation She was 15years old and still a minor. My dad/grandad had been wo...

Re: Public Footpaths - cycling?

I don't.Never have. I did 90% of my Mountain biking in our National Parks and always stuck to Bridleways.I noticed the trend for Mountain Bikers to ride foot paths get more common in the last 10 years or so.I was called a "footpath Nazi" for not doing so and condemning those who did.I/we s...

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to let her back in the UK.She went,of her own free will,to join a Terrorist organisation and has shown absolutely no remorse for anyone or anything but herself.De-radicalisation doesn't work. She is a threat now and always will be.Why shoul...

Re: A1-Bamburgh/Northumberland.

I cycled up there a bit. Between Shilbottle and Belford l can think of at least four, including the one that crosses the A1 from Coastal Grains over to Belford. Alnwick /Alnmouth is s bridge the others aren't but l've never had a problem crossing at any of them. Just had to Google that! Lots of thi...

Re: Facebook cynic -wot to do?

A fool and their data are soon parted! No Thanks. See below Facebook may have as much of my data as it likes, I'm even prepared to accept that there's a slim risk that there might possibly be enough for somebody to steal my identity (though I think I've protected myself enough to prevent that) I ha...

Re: Turbo trainers

You can put any speed wheel you like but your gears will only work correctly on an 11-speed cassette.11-speed chains are thinner for a start!
Many 10speed wheels are either 9/10speed or 10/11speed compatible.Worth asking sure as an 11 speed cassette will fit 10/11speed hubs but not 9/10speed hubs.

Skylark song.Reminds me of my childhood when our village was surrounded by fields. Now sadly housing estates.

Fast running streams/waterfalls,very soothing.

In fact probably everything you hear when out walking or cycling miles away from the nearest town.

Your friend must have other qualities that you like in order for you to stay "connected" with them. :? I'm only really "connected" with him on Facebook.I haven't actually seen him in 25+ years!(The same as lot of my "friends" on FB). Ex-friends, one earnestly hopes :? ...

This tells me that you have been in very few. I don't know possibly 20 or 30?I didn't mean they were exact copies of each other like Mcdonalds etc but that they all had a similar layout and look about them inside. The Chief Justice of the Common Pleas in Keswick is quite good inside as they've kept...

Re: Gwynedd Passing Distance signs

Yes, I know that. But cyclists/motorists may also be breathing out C-19 and the former may be hyperventilating, so perhaps 3M would be more appropriate. As a cyclist, I can tell if passing motors contain cigarette smokers, even when the occupants are not smoking and all the windows are wound up tig...
