Re: RF ablation for Atrial fibrillation, any long term success
I have not had a chance to speak to a cardiologist yet Jonathan, I have been referred to the cardiology department, but apparently there is a waiting list just for a consultation, of 38 weeks

RF ablation for Atrial fibrillation, any long term success
Hello, i got persistent atrial fibrillation 4 yrs ago after a bout of gastroenteritis and was reverted back to sinus rhythm 8 months later with a one shock cardioversion.
I’ve been fine for past 3.5 yrs and even got back to enjoying my beloved cycling.
I got a virus recently and went back into persistent atrial fibrillation with my HR 220 bpm which was frightening.
I am currently on heart control and blood thing meds, but I cannot even go on a short walk without getting out of breath.
My options seem to be
another cardioversion or an RF ablation
Have any of you had any long term successful recoveries from an ablation procedure please
Thanks

Thanks for your helpful reply
I’ve not actually got the bike yet, I have seen it advertised and am thinking of buying it...all I know is that the current cassette is sora 9 speed 12-25 with sora derailleur, I just wondered if I could fit a cassette with 28 or 30t using the same derailleur and perhaps just getting a new chain, thanks
