Re: Chainset Replacement of FSA Comet 386 BB30 42x27T

Thanks, Brucey, I was wondering whether changing just the chain and cassette may help and have them on the way so will be trying them. As to my main question though, would the chainset replacement I suggested be OK? Even if I don't change it now it'd still be really useful to know if my thinking is on track or not.

Re: Chainset Replacement of FSA Comet 386 BB30 42x27T

It's what I was advised to do. My knowledge is pretty limited to be honest but there was no hard sell or anything. I'm happy with changing the whole thing, just want to make sure I get the right one. I'm pretty certain it's all the original bits and was used by someone who is very active before it came to me. I'm having issues with the chain dropping between the chainrings when I'm shifting the front derailleur up.

If I was to go down the adapter route what would people suggest re the adapter and suitable replacement chainset?

Chainset Replacement of FSA Comet 386 BB30 42x27T

I had my Boardman MTB HT PRO 2011 serviced yesterday and was told I need to replace the drivetrain.

I've sourced a new cassette and chain but and having issues with the chainset. Currently it has the FSA Comet 386 BB30 42x27T but finding one for sale is proving impossible.

I have seen the FSA Afterburner 386 BB30 40/28; both 10 speed chainset that sounds like it would be a compatible replacement. Can anyone advise as I'm not 100% sure?
