Re: New house - what green solution would you do?

We built new 10 years ago, so this is solid practical advice. Insulation is no.1. Concrete floors up and down for underfloor heating from air source heat pump. Masonry to the wall plate. Whole house ventilation wit heat recovery. Zoned heating. Rainwater for cisterns is a big cost saving, but we abandoned it because it was impossible to stop microscopic organic matter brewing up in the cisterns. Overall we are happy with the 'green' aspect, taking into account all inputs, energy consumption and overall longevity.

Re: early BSA ladies cycle

Thanks for the replies. The guards and chain case are much later repairs. The rear hub is a two speed Eadie with coaster brake, so not before 1905. Internet sources show the chain ring pattern as about 1907, ie no 'BSA' arms.

early BSA ladies cycle

I rescued this many years ago, and would like to date it. It has a rigid frame, with the BSA mark and frame number 2432 on the lug at the top of the seat post. The bottom bracket spindle carries the BSA mark. 28 inch wheels, but the front is not original, nor the mudguards, nor the chain case.A very pleasant cycle to ride around our village. I think it about 1910, or a little earlier. It has a coaster brake. Can anyone help?
