A couple of the girls at work say that they would cycle but that they find it uncomfortable. Anyone have any good recommendations for ladies seats? (also they probably have the seat height set wrong) My wife tried a female specific Specialised Body Geometry saddle on one of her bikes and promptly m...

I'm choked up as well.

Excellent: well done - to both of you.

Thanks for sharing. And I would love to hear of her further progress and enjoyment of cycling..

I've not yet heard the new album by The Cure but it got a huge thumbs-up in Saturday's Guardian (The Magazine). Not a full-on review, but a very enthusiastic mention in The Measure.

So ... Santa .... if you're wondering what I'd like ....!

I'm sorry that Mhara has left the forum,I don't know her reasons but can honestly say that if it is anything to do with this thread then I hope the OPer has learned their lesson in how not to get more women cycling. I believe that the thread which may have prompted Mhara's departure was first locke...

I have pondered this issue, and not really arrived at a concrete conclusion. What was interesting about the thread is that many folks did learn something from it, and that those who appeared to be locking horns all 'kissed and made up' by the end of it.. But, I did get the sense that Mhara was left ...

Yes.

She is missed by me.

I have tried to contact her via a friend of hers who also hangs out here.

She left very soon after the 'orientation' thread ....

Mhara: if you read this ... do get in touch ... and ... best wishes to you.

Excellent! Actually, talking of wind, we were rather astonished yesterday ... when we went into the pub there wasn't a breath of wind, but by the time we'd eaten and and were back on the road we realised that a brisk headwind had come up for us to do battle with! Fortunately, we were also nearly 75%...

Cool, that's a great description of lfgss (although I'd describe the profanities as slightly more than slang!), *Hijack alert* Maybe I understate the case? Probably. Dunno ... attitude to profane language is often very dependent on age/generation (I never use the word 'b*****', but my 85 year-old M...

When perusing the categories and you let the mouse hover on the OP, it displays the full question. This is handy so you can see at a glance which topics you think are relevant/useful/able to offer advise on etc. at a glance so you don't have to keep clicking in to the thread to see. That would be v...

Ever since Khornknight (sp?) posted a link to the London Fixie's site ... http://www.londonfgss.com/ .... I have become fascinated by the banter and camaraderie there. (The usual warning about profane slang!) And I think that the difference between *that* site and this demonstrates most admirably th...

The last time I cycled in winter I was probably about 8 yrs old and can't remember it, (*newb-daft-question-alert*) so what's it like cycling on wet leaves and how slippy is it when it's icy on the road? I have yet to cycle on ice, but yesterday - as I continued my 'quick-training week' as I'm goin...
