Certainly something you need to keep a handle on! Looks like pretty standard square shaft from door handle etc. readily available at builders merchants only problem is the square is cast or forged as part of the handle. I changed many of these during my period as a building manager in Stockport. A ...

Try warming the plastic boss then punch the old handle back through. It was pushed in during manufacture, ergo it could be pushed out again. you might be able to push a bit more shaft through and saw off the bulge, or just saw the bulge off anyway.

Not north of Harlech . From Ruabon to Morfa Mawddach prior to closeure that was all single track and across the viaduct to Pwllheli its all single track, as is the bit from the old junction towards Tywyn.
