According to the Transport for London website, bikes (non-folding) may be taken on the District Line out of rush hours. In a couple of weeks time I intend to take my bike between West Ham and Victoria (Monday - around 11 a.m.), and would like re-assurance that I will not be turned off by some little...

As a cheap makeshift you could go along to Lidl next Monday and buy a floor track pump for £2.99. Might turn out to be better than you think.
