Re: Seat stem limit
Sorry colin 531 can't work out how to reply to your comment specifically. I've obtained a 40 year old Raleigh Clubman 531 that I would like to keep as original as possible. It is slightly too small, so I'm trying to get the saddle as high as possible

Seat stem limit
I realise that limits are there for a reason, but can I get away with going beyond the limit mark on a seat tube bu about 1 inch. My thought is that there is possibly a safety margin.
Thanks all

Early spring cycle camping
Hi all.
Dose anyone go cycle camping in feb/March/April when it gets dark early. Those long dark evenings do not sound appealing, unless there is a pub nearby

Re: Is storing your bike in your tent safer than locking it nearby when camping..?
I'm not suggesting that it's not necessary to lock a bike up but in 40 years of camping on all sorts of campsites in all sorts of units, I have never had a problem with theft, nor have heard of anyone having something stolen.

Re: Finding fun on the bike again
For me, cycling is about freedom. Sometimes on my Galaxy with flat bars and Carridce saddle bag. Sometimes on my carbon Trek. Sometimes on my other bike which is aluminium. Sometimes in lycra, sometimes in civvies. Garmin is used for a record, but the stats are just figures and not the reason ride. Sometimes I stop regularly, taking pics, sometimes I keep going. Freedom and not being dictated to about pace or distance. I love that variety. And just rekindling cycle camping after many years.
