I have had a couple of Shimano gears where the limit screws seem to be made of Swiss Cheese (and Allen heads) . Replaced with Stainless cross head.

Re: How to get wheels off a Kendrick Trike
I am a Trustee if the Cycle Museum. We don't have the Tom Norton Machine ,we have had a bequest of a similar one which is in London. Our stores manager needs to get it into a Nissan Micra to get it to the Museum .
( I have tried to get him on 3 wheels but he isn't keen .He's a 'Rough Stuffer' )
It's not with me so can't post pictures. I could probably sus it out myself if it was with me , I am guessing it will be similar to a conventional front wheel hub but with a captive inner cone.

Re: The cranks
I would generally say make the pair fir aesthetic reasons BUT in this case I suspect the 2 cranks will have identical profiles so you could just polish the logo off the one that us already missing most of it and no one will be any the wiser.

Velcro strap/ toe strap. Anyone with a trike need to secure it at a halt, they do have a tendency to wander off given half a chance!

Butterfly Bars ? Good lady has slight back issues, we have an adjustable stem ( quill not ahead) and Butterfly Bars . Works a treat , on an old school Mixte Touring frame. (Dawes Galaxy)

Glue? Mate of mine has advised me on repairing a caravan cover , he uses glue designed for shoe repairs on his fishing waders ,and has tried some to good effect in my cover. Or self adhesive Velcro?

Re: Humber roadster - repair cafe job - quadrant shifter, dual ended brake cables
Found the new double ended cable today in a box it shouldn't have been in.
It's 36" Black with Sturmey Archer branding. Might be for a hub brake considering length .
Drop me a pm if you need it ( and I stress 'need') and we can negotiate .( 'Need ' as I hold spares for the National Cycle Museum as well as my own. )
In fact I have a hub brake that has a solderless nipple on the cable so I might be able to spare that if required.

Re: Humber roadster - repair cafe job - quadrant shifter, dual ended brake cables
If the brake cable becomes an issue, you can get something that's called a Solderless Nipple that screws on the 'other end' of the cable, so you can assemble a replacement .
(I did look in my stock, I did have a suitable new old stock cable some time ago but it seems it has been used on something. )

Re: toe clips
I fear your theory re adjustable clips may be wide of the mark.
My understanding is the idea is to get the Centre of the ball of the foot directly above the pedal axle for optimum
application of pressure.

Re: toe clips
I agree you will learn to live with it unless you are riding fixed.
I used to regularly ride a Flying Gate , 37" Wheelbase Time Trial machine (with toe clips)
I did consider SPD to give a few more centimetres clearance but never got around to it (actually got one that fitted me better and did go for SPD despite having more clearance)!

Sorry Motorised Assist required to get adonated machine from Waltham Cross to Llandrindod Wells Cycle Museum
Posting here in my capacity of Company Secretary of the National Cycle Museum, we have had a Kendrick Tricycle donated to the National Cycle Museum in Wales (Llandrindod Wells) . The machine is in Waltham Cross , and our London representative doesn't have a vehicle capable of transporting it.
Is there anyone out there who could help? Free Museum Entry at very least if you do and we could possibly assist with petrol money ( please pm me if you think you could help and we can discuss)

Re: Bolt snapped in brake caliper mount
Further to my last. Majority of screw in posts are seen on Alloy frames ,and the beds are marginally more substantial than on a steel frame. Most of the post mounts on steel frames start life as a post that is riveted through the bit that gets braze do to the frame. I understand from my 'tame' framebuilder that as part of the process of brazing Cantilever/v brake mounts to a steel frame that the base of the post gets some braze ( I did have one come unbrazed which enabled the post to rotate as it was still riveted in place ) I would suggest (and it is a suggestion only not having done it myself) that there possibly is not enough material to accept a tapped thread that will take the impact of braking .
