Don't really understand the question about 'zigzagging' in a lane: Do you mean filtering through stationery traffic & sometimes needing to moveacross the lane to do it as safely as possible. (ie not always staying on the inside of stopped cars?)

nsew wrote:“Pro-Kremlin media outlets have been prominent in spreading disinformation about the coronavirus, with the aim to aggravate the public health crisis in western countries, specifically by undermining public trust in national healthcare systems,” states the report, seen by the Guardian.
There are traitors amongst us spreading the Kremlin’s message.
It's quite entertaining to think there are Russian Troll Bots at work on this forum. However, unlike one or two posters here, I think they do try and keep a veneer of credibility & attempt to be believable.

What we have learned so far from this episode is that the Govt puts out guidelines/rules. People try and get around what is intended by reading the small print or ignoring the guidelines because they aren't madatory. The Goevernment then has to go further. If people decide they can exercise as often as they like, then we'll just get full lockdown. Personally I don't see the point of pushing against the boundaries every time because you just achieve the opposite effect. What's the sense in that?
In this case the government has enacted legislation not put out guidelines. Legislation is not small print it's the law. Doing something the National Police Chief's Council say is allowed is not pushing against any boundaries.
They are saying that it hasn't been banned. They are not saying they expect you to do it. There is a difference.
Lockdown is coming anyway TBH

The Health Protection act passed yesterday defines one of the reasonable excuses to leave home as being "to take exercise either alone or with other members of their household" . It places no restrictions on the number of times this can be done in a day.
Right, but be clear here. The restriction they have made is not making it illegal, but they are saying, don't do it more than once a day. (see Boris' news conference 24th March.) So we come back to whether you feel you should be ignoring the Government's plans for dealing with the virus. Its not against the law, but they don't want you to do it.

Maybe if people used the "lockdown" to calm down look into statistics and facts there wouldn't be so much conflict?
If it's nothing out of the ordinary why is this happening?

You can quote all the stats you like but what is happening in the real world is a bit challenging for your cosy world view.
A couple of weeks until the peak hits in the UK (assuming people obey the rules)

Once again you're missing the point.
Unfortunately I don't live in a cosy little world anymore because mass hysteria has all but shattered that.
Why is it that statistics...actual facts...seem to be ignored by many who jump on a media-fueled bandwagon then actaully condemn those who choose to look at the facts and try to keep calm.
Truely bewildering.
OK. Genuinely. I am missing your point. Tell me in what way:
You say: The stats say that there are no more excess deaths occurring in the population therefore Covid-19 is nothing worse than flu.
Am I correct in this?
I say: The stats may say that, but how come the morgue is overflowing?
Has it occurred to you that maybe there is something about the raw stats (or your interpretation of them) that are misleading? Otherwise where are all the bodies coming from?

OT - Ellieb, do you think you could make the quotes so it's clear who you're quoting, would make it easier to follow (Or ignore)

Obviously I admit fanning the flames a bit but I rather enjoy winding up old clocks.
So in the midst of all this, with over 100 people dying in this country today, you admit to a bit of light trolling.
classy.

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?
I thought they were saying it was people with underlying health conditions, why the old have a higher risk?
Because that is the way the virus happens to affect people. Viruses can do this sort of stuff. Spanish flu affected younger people more.
The risk starts to go up a little over 50 & a lot over 70.

No. As the authorities keep saying: The young and healthy have a much lower risk, but they aren’t invincible. Given there have been 400 or so deaths having 3 or 4 in the younger age groups is to be expected. Still sad though.
