Bikester poor service?
I'm receiving poor service from this company. They will not respond to e-mails and this seem to be normal if you go to their Facebook page. Just a warning guys?

Re: Small Pumps.
So I watched a video of a guy that extensively travels with his Brompton. and he suggest 80-85 psi. The tyres are Schwalbe Marathon 16'' and said to be puncture resistant and long lasting?
So a pump has to go up to that pressure, I'll have to buy two, one for the garage, and one for trips out.
The track ones are reasonable in price, and it seems £25 will get me one, but the small one is proving difficult to find? Like I said, it does not have to be small, as it can go in a sale bag?

e: Which Brompton?

Having owned a 3 speed Brompton, I thought it was rather overgeared. I know Cambridge is pretty flat but I struggled on the slightest of hills with my 3 speed, where I live. If she can afford it, I would go with the 6 speed. If I bought another 3 speed, I’d lower the gears by fitting a smaller chainring and/or a larger rear sprocket. If used for commuting, you need mudguards (which come as standard on most models) and a rack would be useful. I didn’t find the M handlebars too flexy. My recommendation would be for a CLine Explore 6 speed with a dynamo upgrade, and change the tyres to Marathon Plus for better puncture protection.
We bought our Bromptons from Rutland Cycles in Peterborough, and they let us test ride them around the car park.

Small Pumps.
I gather my tyres need to have a pressure of 100 psi, so finding a small pump is proving difficult £££ as I need so many things all at the sam e time. About pumps, I don't need ultra small, (got a sale bag on order ) so would an old fashions 18'' pump do me?
Second I have seen Amazon a Cycleafer Mini floor pump with good reviews? Thanks open to suggestions. Richard.

Re: Small chainring.
Specifically, the standard single speed has 12T rear sprocket and 54T front chainring; the 2-speed version has 12T/16T rear sprocket and 54T front chainring; the 3-speed version has 13T rear sprocket and 50T front chainring; the 6-speed version has 13T/16T rear sprocket and 50T front chainring.
So it seems 13 teeth?? 50 teeth, is that right guys please? Does that tell me anything?

Re: Small chainring.
Slowroad, 100% correct, would you know the gearing on a 3 speed Brompton please? It was suggested because I suffer with arthritis in my knees, hips and back, plus my age? I've not used a bike in 40 years to be honest, so I will take your advice and try first, thanks.
pwa. Living in a flat part of the world, its doubtful I'll need too low gears, but I'll see thank you for the kind advice.
Have to give it a try and see, no idea about teeth, numbers, just learning right now. Kind regards, Richard.
PS what is an OP referred to me clearly?

Small chainring.
Hi all again,
A very experience cyclist suggest I get a small chainring for my new bike. They suggested it would make the peddling a bit easier, for someone of may age.
Could anyone suggest exactly what I'm after, as they suggested a cycle shop could do it quite easy. I gather a small chain ring would make the 3 gears lower/higher and better to pedal?
What do small chainrings cost out of interest please guys?
Thanks Richard.

Phone maps
Guys, I'm a little too old to understand tech as such, so I hope you can help me?
I've brought an O/S map of my local area for cycling, and as part of the price it includes a digital download. As I understand it once done I can use the map on my phone, will that use my data up if I do?
Thanks, very grateful. Richard.

Generic bags to fit Brompton bikes?
Hello everyone, this is my first post. I brought a Brompton Bike today and wanted to know if anyone else owns one, and have found any bags that fit these bikes, but a bit cheaper than the Brompton ones?
I don't need a really all singing Gortex job, as being 70 now, I'll not be overnighting. So something generic that will take a pump, flask, or water, waterproofs, little odd bits mini tool kit?
Thanks all, wish you a Happy Christmas. Richard.
