Re: How do you find thigs that are lost?

I lost a ring, a beautiful one I had made many years ago. It still hasn't turned up. I wonder if I mistakenly put the (maybe) case it was in with the charity black bag. Also lost a watch somewhere in the house. Someone said you should pray to St Anthony? As I'm not religious I doubt whether this wou...

Re: Spare cat?

Just realised I've already mentioned Marmite. However, he has got a little bolder now and comes in most days.

Re: Spare cat?

We've got a new cat on the block recently. He's a lovely black and white boy with a little black spot on his nose and he reminds me of one of my former cats who lasted almost 20. He just comes in through the cat flap and gives a little meow. My Siamese Merlin tolerates him and it is the first time h...

Re: What sort of stuff will a charity shop take thesedays?

I enjoy charity shops. I find it more exciting finding something there than going to a normal shop, although I do sometimes. I'm retired now so it all helps but I still used to go to them when I was earning good pennies. I know someone who cycles who is always looking around our local charity shop. ...

Re: Spare cat?

Any spare cats in our vicinity have been sent away with a flea in their ears. My Siamese won't tolerate them ...... until he met another cat in the road, a black and white moggy answering I believe to the name of Marmite, who walked over to him, touched noses and that was that! He now walks in and o...

Re: Consensus re MTB tyres

I ride similar types of terrain to the author of this post and need new tyres. Does anyone think that Schwalbe Marathon Pluses would be a good idea as there is sometimes glass around areas I have to go through? Otherwise I have also seen some good Specialized tyres. Or are Continental ones better? I...

Re: Cleland Cycles & Geoff Apps are back!!

I was about to post a link to Geoff's site, would have done it before but wasn't sure where to put it.

The website is really interesting. I'm not affiliated but have known Geoff for many years but only actually met up with him on cycling events half a dozen times. I wish him the best of luck.

It could be the seeds in the blackberries that upset you!

Re: Fliss Kendall ... I am surprised..

I once saw Fliss in Stuart Bikes in Acton, circa 1987. She was buying a bike for her young son but I didn't recognise her until Les from the shop told me who I'd just missed! I thought she would be recognizable by her bottom! She was judged to have the best bottom a few years ago. My other half lik...

Re: i just bought this

I'd like a plain one with Gitane on but not polyester/acrylic or other nonsense. I don't like cycling tops generally but I would like a Gitane! I have a wonderful Bike Friday one which is much too hot to wear (polyester) but the design of it so stunning I will occasionally put up with it. It belonge...

Re: Helping each other out

Like your Flickr photos Colin. Is there still an organization in Lancaster that takes scrap bikes & does them up? Maybe you could help out there & it might lead to something? Lancaster's a lovely city. I used to go there for CycleFest every time it was held and am going to a Sustrans confere...

CTC Website for Renewing Membership

Grr, I wanted to renew my membership and when I tried to do it on line, no response. I'll have to remember to do it over the phone tomorrow. Is this happening a lot?
