Eco-pants

My husband's pants get downgraded to cleaning car parts (he's a restorer of classics) when the elastic goes. Or for washing things that are so dirty you can't bear to rinse the thing out again. I heard on the radio once that one particular traveller used to keep all his old clothes, T shirts, pants,...

Baggies or Lycra

How I agree with you Wallyone but would make that 50!!! When you are young and slim lycra's fabulous - oh to be young and slim again, but unless you have good figure (male or female) it doesn't look so good. I wouldn't wear it myself but certainly wouldn't have worn it around towns when I did wear i...

Drat! I live in Birchwood area but don't think there's a sign for that. I'll have to wait for G for Gorse Covert where I lived or possibly Croft or Culcheth which are nearby, providing I can fathom out how to download. Manx Cat kindly did me a 'idiots guide' but I've not yet had the opportunity to s...

How do you celebrate your birthday?

Lucky you, going to York. If you like it go to the CTC Rally in June, then you'll get to explore it again. My birthday's this week (22nd) & it's a VERY BIG ONE! I'm afraid I'm probably not going to do anything at all unless he who is always working surprises me. If it's a nice day I might have a...

Easter's Early

HI Glueman How did your Polish Uncle make them? You could start off a new string with this as I love potato cakes. I think the secret is to add an egg as well as flour & butter & roll out and bake in the oven. My Gran used to make ones that sound similar to yours but unfortunately my Mum can...

Cycling Social

Yes, and the same people seem to go on them too! Jeckyll & Snyde (can't remember how it was spelled) Your location reminds me of when I was probably under 5 years old, being taken to Daisy Hill Park behind the railway station, by my Grandmother, who lived in Atherton. I remember paddling in the ...

Shoes to keep 'Bent feet warm

I always had cold feet on my ICET as I think feet were quite high up. Also had to wear shoes with cleats safety reasons. I've found feet warmer with my Delta trike, but can wear ordinary leather casual shoes with them. You can buy sheepskin insoles from Lidl sometimes. I found these were OK in my cy...

Merino Wool

Bought a zip top from Aldi, they're 14.99 not 19.99 (that was Euro) Had to ?get brown as they only had large in the pinky colour & it had a hole in sleeve anyway, so that decided it for me. Hardly any ladies but lots of mens. This subject can go on and on can't it

Back to this subject again - I missed the base layers last week but picked up a leaflet and couldn't believe they've got the light tops with half zip front now, on sale tomorrow. I am going to be there as soon as I can to get one as they look really good. :D

Tomato Soup Recipe

Just remembered about this one Mary. I made it yesterday and it was super soup! As I always have to deviate from recipes I added red lentils and put a little more spice in, plus Oregano. As I couldn't be bothered cooking yesterday (haha) I made this & we had it with cheese on toast around the fi...

Tired brooks

I've got an old Brooks saddle and have no idea what model it is. It's quite rounded, clearly a man's saddle but has no holes on the top. It has a Brooks label on it.

It's been in the garage for ........ years and years.

Has anyone any ideas about it?

Car Suggestions

I was talking to someone at York Rally on camp site who had Fiat Multipla. He had a couple of kids & camping equipment and bikes in it. They look funny but are amazingly capacious. You could sleep in it if you went camping - a bit more comfortable than a tent!

Well, I missed them, I didn't see any queue of CTC forumers either! Perhaps they'll have more later. I had to be content with fleece neck thing, which I wore on way back. Quite warm & girly in pink!

Please post on here if you see anything else likely with long sleeves.
