Re: Blogging

Well, I enjoyed it up to now. I know that cycle path, I've gone along it many times from Lancaster to Morecambe on the CycleFest weekends. I'll keep popping on to see it.

Re: Throughly fed-up with Facebook

I registered with fb a while ago and can concur with the views above when reading trivia from people at work who were supposed to be off with depression yet had the interest to post utter drivel on there. So I hid that person. Anyone else who annoys me in that way gets hidden. All my photos are frie...

Re: Wife Bike Build - using Old GT Talera MTB

Ahhhhhh, that's lovely. What a lot of work has gone into it and she should be thrilled with it. I wish you would do my Peugeot Mixte & change it to hub gears!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a little knock around.

Re: Acknowledging other cyclists (Tea room context)

It's always been the norm to speak or nod to other cyclists in tea rooms/on the road, etc. I still nod or speak to those going the other way and sometimes people acknowledge you but some look so miserable and don't look as if they are enjoying themselves at all, like a penance perhaps. Keep on being...

Re: Made me laugh: Blatant eBay keyword spamming

I feel like reporting some of these jokers. Once I advertised a waxed hat, including "not Barbour' because I didn't realise you couldn't say that. Out of the blue, the item was pulled off & I had a mark agin me. I told them it was not intention and I had seen it over and over again listed l...

Re: What have you forgotten to take?

I've done that three times. Taken wrong keys, taken no keys etc. My solution is to ALWAYS have my bike lock LOCKED, so I have to unlock it to lock it again, if you see what I mean! Then you know you have the right key before you go locking it and having to wait an hour for a bus and then come back a...

Re: What do you listen to when you ride?

I don't have an iPod. I did have a little radio but found the stations were a bit unreliable. So I either sing to myself or just listen to any birdsong if I'm in the country.

Re: What do you add to your soup?

My favourite quick soup at the mo' is Fresh Pea, and is notable more for what I don't put in it! Simply cook the contents of 1 small packet of frozen peas in the normal way, in about a pint of water with some trimmed spring onions. Once done, blend and eat. Yummy. Simple. Easy at home, but the issu...

Re: Iphone users - FYI

Would that alternative be a Blackberry or HTC?
I've an iMac & have never had an iPhone because I can't justify spending £35pm on a phone. I'd really love one but it seems such a commitment!

I've seen a Blackberry touch on Fleabay which I might bid on, until Ernie comes up with an iPhone.

Re: How to sell an iPhone

I bought an LG Prada on Ebay a couple of years ago, thinking it would be good. The seller was very nice and sent it me recorded delivery. However, I decided the phone didn't 'do' enough for what I wanted so I tried to take it into CEX and PX it for something more to what I wanted, like a good organi...

Re: I've Just Planted Some Rhubarb

I never seem to remember to get rhubarb and then when I see it in the shops kick myself for not having done so. I quite like gardening but don't like a tidy garden and have recently managed to get rid of a stack of large paving slabs on Freegle. Now I don't know what to use for where I was going to ...

Re: Having kittens

My cat tells me when it's bed time! He marches up and down like someone old and forgetful but he's not forgetful really. He knows that by 11.30 HE should be in bed and that means me as well. It's so distracting, I actually do go to bed. He's a lovely old Siamese though and had two homes before I too...
