Re: Another sleeping mat question.
I had a sleep mat failure on day 1 of my trip to France this year: two weeks sleeping on the ground was not great! Bony bits on the ground is not fun - I'm a side-sleeper. I have now bought a separate inflatable pillow & half length sleep mat (shoulder to knee), both from Decathlon - they work better for me than the integrated full length mat I had before, and are pretty light.

London - Paris - St Malo 2023
Hi ... I'll be cycle touring in France for the first time this year ... taking the ferry to Dieppe, the Avenue Verte to Paris & then the Veloscenic to Mont Saint Michel and the ferry back from St Malo. I'll be camping & have a couple of sites booked but wondering if I need to book sites or I'll be able to just turn up? I'm travelling from Whitsun for the first couple of weeks in June.
Also can anyone recommend any campsites along this route? Or ones to avoid? Any other tips for cycle touring in France / through Paris?
Thanks

Re: Fort Augustus to Fort William via Loch Oich and Loch Lochy
Hi ... I cycled this in May/June last year, not sure if that's recent enough. As I recall there was a bit of forestry work going on at the time that made part of it pretty rough - it would depend how much rain there's been if that's doable or not. Apart from that though I think it should be OK for 25 .... most of it was pretty hard packed gravel as I recall.
