Re: Nomad/Bafang?

Would it be capable?? .. yes ....I weigh about 8 kilos less. and even faced with wind on our way back for 15 miles and an average speed of between 14/16 I have power left after mileage in the high 30's.. and that includes a long quiet straight piece of maybe 3 miles where we do our best to see what'...

Re: Giant e battery fitment - won't seal !

following what last contri says if purchased used, has the previous owner fitted a speed dongle as my chum had a similar issue when we put his in,a road E plus ,you actually have to drop the motor a tad to get access and often it doesn't line up as it was because a wire or something is slightly aske...

Re: Nomad/Bafang?

That 100 n/m i mentioned is not std... I think most 250 's are usually rated by Bafang at around 40/50 n/m.. you know their biggy the 1k item is rated at 160 afaik... I see they are building De Rosa new Road E machine with the new integrated Bafang motor, no details but the frame is very similar to ...

Re: Nomad/Bafang?

the 42 is mated with a 11/30 8 sp if memory serves. but then as Kwackers says its a 250 same as they all are... just that mine is a very good strong one.. in any case who's to say what it is.... they are all the same size inside and outside as is said on here its dependant on the control and the ele...

Re: Getting started

hi, can put you in touch with a well experienced chap in the N.E. who would be able to build your wishes, there's no need to derestrict the motor you need however given that you are off road, off grid, and obviously going to be demanding what it can and does supply in spades... warranty is an issue ...

Re: Nomad/Bafang?

Gearing.. now i couldn't speak about the torque of your intended 01's... I thought that they were all superseded by the much superior electronic innards in the BSOB 02's, perhaps they are old stock.. but as to gearing change the front chainring from the std Bafang heavy steel offering to a Lekkie 42...

Re: LEJOG tattoo?

Whether you like em or not. they are a mark and a mark which identifys to many.. right or wrong as tramp stamps.. personally i have no time for them, drawing on oneself doesn't float my boat, some are so gross on the sides of neck face etc etc meant to shock or cause a reaction very obviously which ...

Re: Nomad/Bafang?

hi , I have now built 8 machine using Bafang mid motors and am using 2 of these myself.. I would certainly recommend the brand and they are relatively straightforward to fit to any strong steel or alloy frameset. what to look for is frame tyre clearance.. big section tyres do help with the air suspe...

Re: Hip replacement and cycling

Sorry to hear of your traffic accident. that alone even you hadn't broken a hip bone would have left you in pain .. my chum and cycle bud fell in his own home from a step ladder and had a new hip the following day, he too was sore for some weeks.. i kept reminding him that as well as everything bein...

Re: OBREA GAIN D40 (e-bike)

I appreciate that, however neither of us has any great wish to trail 65 miles on any day in our environs worthy of that distance, what we would agree on , as would many other Gain owners, a more usable cut off of 20 as supplied In other regions of the world who imo have more handle on how to treat E...

Re: Orbea Gain - first ride

Interesting.. the thing that i find a bit confusing is and I speak from an extensive background in high ticket business, within the UK imv Orbea seem backed up by the consensus of contributors & owners hereabouts who have expounded their views on E assistance their market aim is for those who we...

Re: Modern bicycles...

plus1 , many other LBS's will agree, a way of manufacturers saving money on machining threading and fitting decent alloy or steel shells in any composite frame. and creating a monstrous wide shell to house outboard brgs which they claim stiffens up the twist on the frame when putting high wattage th...

Re: Disc frame touring build..or just go buy a bike?

+1 maybe off topic a tad.... I do exactly the same, myself and my cycle bud are the only people i trust while aboard.. we can ride for miles 18inches/2' between the bars , many many times we have been cajouled to take part in mass rides, charity fund raisers, et al and we always decline politely, wh...

Re: Disc frame touring build..or just go buy a bike?

interesting views from cabled disc users, just a couple of months ago I bought a couple of disc braked frames to rebuild my 2 mid motored 'E' machines which had rim brakes...and did a bit of research on cable operated hydro calipers, my reasoning was if I wanted to use bigger section tyres and guard...
