Surely the BBC is mostly funded by us, the license payers rather than the Government? I think the Govt. only contribute to the World Service. (the Govt., btw, just spend what they take from us, so it's our money being spent yet again). Until my partner started his own business I never realised that ...

OP, I very rarely complain or make a fuss in public, but in the case you quoted above even I would have said something! No need for drama, just a simple "Excuse me, this cup is dirty and the tea is cold". They should then change the dirty cup and bring fresh tea. If they don't, then you do...

They deliver a lot of our parcels and they're about the best couriers we get. Living in a rural area we get a lot of delayed and busted parcels, but not from AJG.

EDIT: just had a read of your blog. Very interesting, thanks. That Woman at the B&B! Definitely in the wrong job.

Clarkson would have been more accurate had he said that most TV programmes are made for (and by) Heat-reading halfwits.

I went off Top Gear once they stopped using the Allman Brothers Jessica as the theme tune.

Sorry to break it to the ladies but that chap is either gay, or you fancy a man who'd rather spend 8 hours in a gym every day than with you. Now wouldn't you rather have someone without the six pack but who'd clean the bike oil off the kitchen floor when he's finished? Hmmm, what a difficult decisi...

He's in Golspie in Sutherland now and expects to be at JO'G for Saturday.

Rotten weather.

This comment on his justgiving page made me laugh:

Saw you yesterday - about to go down Filton Hill in Bristol during rush hour!

Perhaps he'll write an account of his trip, I hope so.

That looks dead comfy. What is it?

I first heard of the term BSO when I was looking for a bike recently and found it quite enlightening and helpful. I suppose some might find it snobby.

I read a statistic recently to my two girls (21 and 18) which said the likeliest cause of death to them was a teenage boyfriend's driving. Made them stop and reflect for a bit. Pity this film isn't played routinely to all Year 11 pupils Jan I agree. Just the right age for this. Some of them would n...

Nice :)

There are some very sweet little villages in Essex, aren't there? We used to live near Southend, but often visited the pleasant parts of North Essex for days out.

We discovered some lovely little places, some of which we could never find again.

Thanks for posting.

Well of course the whole thing is academic as I'm very happily married. No man could compete with Hubby, obviously.

Phew, he's gone back in the shed.
