Re: Kettler Cycles

I am extremely disappointed by these customer service failures which clearly do not match Germany's reputation for engineering quality". Kettler have declined to comment on these customer care issues but agreed to replace the bike in two days. I'd be disappointed too. I love German brands and ...

If you want to kill someone in this country, run them down in your car. You're much more likely to get light punishment, or none at all.

I'll be interested to see what sentence Mr Palmer receives and whether he is allowed to drive a vehicle again. Interested, but disappointed.....

Do women still want a bike with a lowered crossbar? Is that sort of dignity aid still required? Don't know about other Women, but I wanted a step-through. Due to my bad back I'm not particularly agile. Also, like Jan said, Women specific bikes have a different geometry to Men's. Regarding the motor...

Chicken and egg, if women bought lots of bikes they'd stock more... But how can a Women buy a bike if they only have 1 in the store? I don't expect a tiny independent LBS to stock a range of Ladies bikes, but Evans? I think that's quite shocking! It took me weeks to find a bike shop where I could a...

Perhaps the point about the Shipman analogy is that he did cause a lot of people to start worrying about doctors taking the power of life and death into their own hands - people who previously would have had 110% faith in doctors. One of the reasons he got away with it for so long was that even the...

Gosh BC, do you get RED squirrels!! Ive never seen a real native squirrel before, on teh CTC bike ride there were lots of notices about them as we must of passed through a strong hold for reds... I looked and looked, but none were seen... mind you, I was so busy at the pedals I could of missed them...

In St Helens (where I misspent my youth) we added blouse to the end, as in "you're a big girls blouse". I grew up in St Helens too, and the expression was familiar  I'm pretty sure it made it onto the telly too! I remember Hilda Baker saying it a lot in a TV sit-com, but can't rememb...

 Saw this on Sky News last night. How tragic. Thanks for posting the link to his justgiving page. Very poignant to read the lighthearted messages from his friends and sponsors ("Good luck and don't fall off!" and "See you soon!"), then they change to sympathy messages. So ne...

Haven't checked on Mr Kettell's progress for days, had a look tonight and he's got as far as Scotland. He's in Beattock right now. I wish he was coming by me, I'd love to see him go past.

Have seen plenty of other "girlies" who clearly believe they are not capable of learning techy stuff, you can actually see their brain switch off. Some believe they're incapable and some pretend to be incapable because they don't want to do it. What's the point of having a Man around the ...

IMHO, around 3800BC with the start of competative consumption and production of excesses  . I can only speak from my own experience, I'm not clever enough to know all about life in 3800BC. I've never lived in a city though, perhaps that's why. Maybe small-town England is still safe. I'd like ...

All the above posts proof my point that we have a serious social problem in this country where "I" matter and no one else exists When did this start? I think a lot of the rot set in in the 1980's. The greed is good decade. Didn't road rage also become a popular phrase then? I know people ...

Red Squirrels being robbed by Crows - I'm Fed Up :(

As I sit here I can see into the garden. The Squirrels bury their peanuts and the Crows wait for the Squirrels to go and dig them up and eat them. I felt quite depressed today, watching the Squirrels frantically digging around for the nuts they buried yesterday and continually coming up empty handed...

"I must say that I have used the provided cycle path from the Park & Ride to and from the City centre for a long time and have never found the need to cycle in the bus lane. As a former very experienced accident investigator, I am sure that I would rather take my chances with a pedestrian ...
