- Loosen the locking ring (yellow arrow)
- screw out the adjuster barrel by c3mm (red arrow)
- tighten locking ring (yellow arrow)
- get daughter try it
- repeat until the best you can get for her
- if you accidentally screw the adjuster barrel out too far, it will come free of the lever housing, if it does, just screw it back in.
- those brake levers aren’t wonderfully precise, so don’t expect super-precision.

Adjusting brake lever
Hi,
I’ve just got a bike for my daughter who is learning to ride, she’s having trouble with the brake levers where she has to squeeze them 3-4cm before they work. Is there a way to adjust the lever so she only has to squeeze them say 1cm for them to work?
