Best way out of Cherbourg
Once again am doing the landing beaches in 2016.... Will be using the ferry service into Cherbourg and wondered if anyone knows of a decent route out of the port perhaps even using a dedicated cycle route that would take us in the general direction of Quinéville. This would put us at the start point...

Re: Is it all down to Brailsford?
So lots of interesting comments about Wogan and all the knighthood issues, but what about UK cycling? Is the rise all down to Brailsford or is there a.n. other(s) who should be held high as the person(s) who has helped steer the good ship ' UK cycle sport' off the rocks and into clear blue water. I ...

Is it all down to Brailsford?
Just wonder what people think about the surge of British cycling........
Is it all down to Sir David Brailsford CBE and his techniques?
Who else in the backroom staff should be at least mentioned in dispatches?
Any bets being taken on Froome getting knighted after his TdF 2013 win?

No requirement to remove your panniers, although, if you wanted to you could. I left all my kit on the bike and only took my bar bag (Camera, passport and monies etc) with me.

Re: Bike around Britain
Looks like a great adventure James.
I have bookmarked your blog so will check it out on a regular basis to see how things are progressing.
Looks like the weather Gods may be smiling on you as those freezing winds and single figure temperatures 'appear' to have gone now.
Good luck.
