Why tubs? When commuting to work at 6am on a cold dark morning they are much easier to change than faff around with inner tubes, trying to find the hole, then find the offending foreign body, all by orange tungsten light, then end up late for work...

I merely said I would not filter up the inside of a lorry if I thought I would be caught up the inside as they move, I always try to assert myself in front of car if i cannot get to the front of queue. Anyway my technique and assertiveness seems to work, having spent the last 14 years commuting thru Preston, Bamber Bridge and Chorley.... it might not be London but the traffic travels faster than London traffic.

If I think I can't get up the inside before the lights change, then I don't.
Has also been discussed on SheCycles.com and it seems many of those ladies also assert themselves as a male cyclist would and claim a front position at the lights, if it is possible. If i do get cuaght out up the inside of a lorry then I will wait until they go. Probably the problem is; many ladies may not be aware of how much of a blind spot lorries have.

Unfortunately it seems the ladies get into the driver's blind spots, and do obey the highway code. I confess i always go to the front, get in front of traffic, assert my position on the road, and try to get away ahead of the traffic.

Debate; Women cyclists mor elikely to be killed at junctions

Currently on radio 2, cos we stop at red lights and don't jump them, we are more likely to be run over.....

Many companies do multitrip or 12 month insurance which would sort it.

Ah Third Crank i am inclined to agree with you. I actually got myself into more trouble by not seriously believing someone was chatting me up. When out on the bike I treat all people as cyclists and potential friends and chat to them equally. Have then found when receiving a favourable friendly response from a female cyclist the male in question then tries to take it further. Quite disconcerting esp when not looking for a male companion in that sense. One female friend of mine found herself in a simialr situation, but found that her repeated "no's" were not accepted as she was bombarded by letters, phone calls and flowers, despite being engaged to another. Some well meaning club offical had passed on her address!!!

But yes it is the attraction between us that keeps the world going round.

Ah classic ... sugar fix, insulin+ dumped into system, sugar moved and stored as glycogen, suddenly no sugar in the system and another hypo or bonk requireing another sugar fix. When bonked the sugar is fine but you also need a long acting carbohydrate to top up with as well.

Sorry to hear your Hubby's ill Karen, best wishes.

To be honest, am sure Phil has a heart of gold but his way of chatting up women left a lot to be desired back in the 80's, there were many cycling ladies who would have gladly cycled the other way when Phil appeared..
There were many sighs of relief when he finally turned up on one birthday rides with a lady in tow.

Try Poland, the best cycle (oops bus) shelters I have ever seen. Twice the size of anything I have seen in this country, good solid wood construction, and could easily be used to overnight if need be (we never did), but made a good place to sit for a picnic lunch in a storm.

Have been cycling a considerable number of years, and rather than not notice this behaviour am aware it is becoming more and more frequent.

When I'm on the bike I OWN THE ROAD, so watch out all you 4+ wheelers.

If you're serious about selling I would contact the tandem club/lbs to discuss the specifics, what the spec is, what sort of price to advertise it at. There are tandem riders here who could also point you in the right direction. But personally would hang on to it for now, who knows what the future may hold...... regardless of what current bloke likes..
