Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

A government whose entire future is predicated on delivering Brexit, populated by the leading lights of the Brexit campaign without opposition in parliament to Brexit has singularly failed to deliver a Brexit deal *anyone* supports, be they leavers or remainers. The collective position of the Brexi...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Among my Brexit bugbears (I have a few  ) is that the 2017 GE is cited by some disingenuous leavers as a ringing endorsement of Brexit, as the vote share for Tory and Labour was very high. There were only two democratic means to affect this policy, the first was the referendum and the second t...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Your comment isnt that far from my own. It is just that unusual views lack vocabulary, I have to choose from unsuitable words from either side. The "conspiracy" as you call it is just a black box, I dont know what is in it but I can see the result. Brexit could be done if people really wa...

Re: No More Extra 9 Months on Passport After Early Renewal

I thought that it would cease to be usable when it has 9 and a half years on it, which is a 15 months before it expires.
As it is only valid for 10 years from issue and must have 6 months left when you enter.

But only if we have a "no deal" Brexit.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

On the other hand, I can not believe that remain would have deliberately withheld this information. It is the first reason that I have heard which genuinely makes good grounds for a second referendum. There is no reasonable reason to assume that it is a trick to undermine, so much as an "oops w...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

If there was the political will to see through the result of the referendum then NI could be forced to take a referendum and choose which entity it wishes to be a part of when the UK departs. The DUP couldnt block it if Labour were genuinely supporting Brexit. The Tories are unwilling to allow the ...

Re: Vittoria Voyagers

I cant help suspect that as we were all buying these tyres at a serious discount that they were not selling at the full price, so probably they were not a profitable tyre for the manufacturer.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

I will agree that there was one serious point in the referendum debate where I was seriously misinformed (I imagine along with most of the UK population) was about the legal restrictions on what could be done with NI "sovereignty". Even though I had myself frequently pointed out that we di...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Brexit could be done if people really wanted to do it, they would just do it, over riding the system. Brexit will destroy itself because it is trying to break the system and the leaders will sacrifice Brexit rather than over ride the system... To 'just do' Brexit requires the EU and the World Trade...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

For the evidence look no further than the negotiations. If we remain in the EU Britain will be further diminished and impoverished especially if we get a labour government . Disaster beckons. Al It was very short sighted of folk on both sides of the referendum to use it as a "proxy" for t...

Re: Is the best rear light, a front light.

Wandering down the garden this weekend I was surprised to see it was effective from an angle of approx 30 degrees and 6-7m from my bike light. I take it that you were with your bike at the time that you did this? That you are saying it shows the light casts out enough light at 30 degrees to the lig...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Because those who are calling for this to be taken into account have been trying to overturn the result of the referendum by any means they can and this is just another in a long stream of attempts to reverse the decision. Leading leavers had, of course, been trying to overturn the earlier referend...
