Re: RIP school kids in Connecticut

Here is a picture I took of a legally held weapon in Ohio in 2010. This gun was the personal property of its owner & traveled with him in his car & was in his domestic residence when he was at home. IIRC it is an M6 semi-automatic, firing Nato rounds. I can understand the use for 'sporting g...

Re: Buying on e-bay

+1 to both the above. Messaging the seller & asking questions to gauge the answers is probably the best way to assess the seller. If they don't know details about what they are selling avoid them. Ask about any damage to the bike. Are the seat post & stem free ? Any dents / scratches ? How w...

Re: Freemans Cycles

I didn't order from their website. I phoned with an enquiry & picked up my items whilst passing through that way.
It may be that they are like a few retailers that I have had dealings with that don't keep their websites up to date. It can be annoying :x

Re: Freemans Cycles

Norwich ?
I have bought a few bits from them. They were very helpful & pleasant to deal with.
Their shop is jammed with stock & keep a lot of it 'upstairs' !

Re: Taking a stanley knife to a Brooks B17

Brooks do this themselves on their 'Imperial' model http://www.brooksengland.com/catalogue- ... +Imperial/ .... I don't know if the lower edge lacing is required to help to stop sagging or if it is a different grade / thickness of leather.

Re: GOSHAWK?

A great find Colin. Goshawks are like a Sparrowhawk ... on steroids ! A much bulkier body & large size is normally the clincher. A great bird to see, I've managed a few contacts with them over the years & had an experience of them with a local falconer. We have a very small population in Nor...

Re: MKS pedal end cap removal

Just a thought ... those MKS pedals look remarkably similar to the SR SP-100AL ones I have on a 1980's bike. I'm wondering if the dust caps are the same diameter / thread. If so the SR ones are both special tool AND Allen key removal (so absolutely no need for a new tool :D ) If so they are still av...

Re: MKS pedal end cap removal

I used a large pair of adjustable gape pliers ... wrap a piece of cloth round the end cap to prevent damage. They aren't that tight so are quite easy to remove.

The whole cull thing is a politically driven sham. Just look at the letter submitted to the Observer by 31 scientists http://www.guardian.co.uk/theobserver/2012/oct/14/letters-observer. Not even the government's cheif scientist thinks the cull is based on sound evidence  . Good grief, the ar...
