Re: Trident Trike

Light weight means different things to different people.

ICE do several trikes with rear suspension (the RS label), I use a Sprint RS - I wouldn't describe it as particularly lightweight the way I have it set up, but it rather depends what lightweight means to you

Re: Hydrogen Vehicles

Nothing I've read convinces me we are ready for the private EV. The infrastructure just isn't there (yet). I'm not saying it won't work given time but simply plugging them in when you reach your destination isn't possible. In a few years there will be more charging points, but never enough to satis...

Re: E-Bikes rules/Law

For most people I actually think those little electric scooters would be much better than bicycles. Even simpler, fold up to nothing so can be carried on trains and up stairs without issues. They should be allowed to fall into the ebike category, no reason they can't be used on roads etc. Lights an...

Re: Sneaky mobile speed camera van - do you warn people?

There are some inappropriate speed limits (I'd argue that when I was 'had' in the US it was an example of that*) But that isn't a license to flout them. Speed cameras are an easy and obvious way of massively increasing the likelihood of detection/conviction, and as such should be embraced - but not ...

Re: Language pedants

A proofreader would place a plural possessive apostrophe after the s, in folks ie - folks' written language - and suggest the closed spelling 'proofread' rather than 'proof read', as the currently accepted norm. Hopefully they'd also sort out the comma in the first sentence, and then come ba...

Re: Trike conversion kit

As has been mentioned - upright trikes have a habit of throwing experienced bike riders into the hedge.

Don’t rule out a ‘bent trike though. I’ve PMed you (as someone else with a serious balance condition)

As someone who had one for that exact reason...

What balance issues? Prognosis?

Re: What the heck is this tool for ........ cleaning

Not quite. Any disc with teeth on it is a cog, the terms ‘sprocket’ and ‘ring’ just refer to the function and position of the cog. A cog has teeth that mesh with those of another cog or worm gear etc. A sprocket’s teeth meshes with a roller chain. They are different. Cog can also refer to the indiv...

Re: What the heck is this tool for ........ cleaning

Well, turns out it even has a name - a "cog brush".... https://www.evanscycles.com/fwe-cog-brush-EV183191 Which is just horribly jarring... they are sprockets, not cogs. Fundamentally different things. Not quite. Any disc with teeth on it is a cog, the terms ‘sprocket’ and ‘ring’ just ref...

Chuka can stay where ever he feels comfortable (bless him) but he should give his constituents the opportunity to mandate him at a by-election. it's not just Chuka, I expressed this view about the whole batch of 'changers'. Back to the Tories - I'm still 'none of the above' but would like to see so...

Not necessarily in the HPV forum.

My raptobike would have been even worse upside-down than right way up.

Re: Why didn't she notice the trap door?

Google Translate is mainly useful for translating from an unfamiliar language into one's vernacular (for most of us that means, English!). At least you can usually make sense of the output. Going the other way around is likely to spew out only nonsense. But this sort of thing was happening long bef...
