A year on !

Hi all It was just over a year ago I set out from John O Groats with the aim of cycling solo unsupported to Land's End. My route was planned to miss all busy roads and follow Sustains route and minor paths for 98% of my trip. For those about to set out the 'experience' was amazing and truly a challe...

Re: Avid Juicy 3 Bleeding brakes

shimano oil is not Dot 5.1, or it would say so on the tin.... If your system uses Dot 5.1, that is what you need to use. Bleeding isn't difficult; there are several online tutorials. cheers Thanks but how do I know what type is currently in my system.....ie Does Avid Juicy 3 only use DOT 5.1 ??? Th...

Avid Juicy 3 Bleeding brakes

Hi all I have a set of Avid juicy 3 disc brakes on my bike which need bleeding and I have a few questions : I am not exactly sure what oil is in the system….I have some Shimano oil (pink) and wondered if it the same as DOT 5.1 which I often see with reference to Avid Brakes. Is it the same or do I n...

Re: Garmin truncates my tracks !

Hi I 'think' I had this problem on my Active 10 GPS based on the first answer. Happened when I planned my route on mapping software and used the follow road option..............it put way points about every 10 foot so when I exported my route it had thousands and thousands of way points which my gps...

Re: Travel to Wick

I thought long and hard about this when travelling from Oxford to Wick in May 2012. Had thought about night train from London to Inverness than catch the 0706 from Inverness to Wick (however was concerned about getting a good night sleep on the night train and as I would have taken the day off befor...

Re: Keeping feet dry?

Hi I had same issue on my May 2012 JOGLE trip. I took one pair of Karmoor mid boots/shoes and wanted to keep them dry. Most cycling overshoes would not fit so I ended up getting these type of things (not the exact ones)...(for motorbikes) Very light and only had to use them a couple of time and they...
