Thank you Tinnishil, that is fantastic information, you have done all my work for me. Could you advise if you have cycled this route and how you found it traffic wise. I have been advised to avoid the A85 and from your route I see it mostly follows the A85 between Dalmally and Crieff. As we are a mi...

Re: Ardrossan to Port Patrick
Thank you Tinnishill andWanlock Dod for your replies. Think I will follow your route Tinnishill but get a lift to Maybole leaving me with a 50 mile cycle to Port Patrick. Nicely doable in a day. Looking forward to it.

Ardrossan to Port Patrick
Planning to cycle the above following Sustrans Routes 73 then 7 to Maybole. Don't want to follow Route 7 inland. Is the A77 south too busy? Would I be better taking back roads e.g. Daily, Old Daily, Pinwherry etc south ? Any advise appreciated.

Re: South-West Coastal 300, Scotland
Thanks all, it does appear a route more for motorists and motor bikes especially the sections which include the A77 and A75. Was hoping to make my own route with minor roads but roughly following the stated route. Proving difficult in sections, I don't want to be coping with fast traffic. Will have ...

Hi, I am interested in cycling this newly advertised route. Could anyone advice on the roads traffic wise. In particular between Girvan and Stranraer,
I think it could be busy with HGV's heading for the Northern Ireland ferry at Cairn Ryan.

Re: Which Canary Island ?
Thanks to everyone who responded. I have decided on Tenerife and go there this February for a fortnight. I know it will be hilly but will give it a go, do what I can do and just enjoy being on the bike.
