Re: Swapping the rim on a wheel w epoxy glued spokes?
Thanks for your replies and tips! It's more the hassle of getting the right spokes and lacing the wheel I'd like to avoid. This wheel came with a bike I bought and has some flexy but rather spendy DT Revolution spokes(xtr hub, Mavic 217 sup rim). I guess if they jam in the new nipples I could just s...

Swapping the rim on a wheel w epoxy glued spokes?

Re: Q Factor, does it matter?
For a seated, high rpm, spinning style of cyclist - yes! Mtb, touring or commuter masher style, not that much. I dont do MTB but I thought that high RPM spinning was even more use to them than it was to road bikers. Their chosen gearing sort of backed that idea up. True. Thing is, traditionally, th...

Here in Stockholm the temperature often rise and fall more than 20C during the day so sluch and the frozen piles of snow are a big problem. In these conditions I prefere the Nokian Mount & Ground W240 to the Schwalbe Winter. It has a deeper thread that trap packed snow/slush unlike the Winter op...

Re: 26" or 650B wheels on road (audax) frame? Hard to do in UK?
Thanks Ersakus for helping out! When I measure the Motobecane (again, not mine) fork along the length of the legs from centre of the dropouts to the underside of the crown of I get 355 mm and 360 mm at the centre of the crown. The narrowest inside measurement between the legs just bellow the crown (...

Second that! Very high quality and strength. Good friction so no risk for sliding when riding in rain, unlike fizik.

Thanks for the tips Mick F! Always wondered what them cheese holes were for! I usually bring my 'ol Hypercracker, problem is that my wheels seem to be to well made (by me I might ad). So the only use it's seen is from helping out fellow travellers. ... I've seen a photo of a rear fork end opened up ...

Good to know! Could you at some point measure the distance from the centre of the hub axle to the top of the tire?

Great to hear about your experiences!
I recently scored a 1973 Motobecane Grand Record (not mine!) and it seems to have enough room for 28-32mm 700C tires and 40mm fend... sorry mudguards. Wonder if I'll be able to fit the 42mm Hetrés on 23 mm Grand Bois rims?

Burnt orange is a great choice and probably the one I would pick if I had mine custom built!
Creme is pretty but can be a bit bland. Why not try a more daring contrasting colour?

Clearly not a seller ( mydogeatspears )to be trusted: He ran it as a standard auction and it got to about £650. Cancelled my bids saying he didn't want to sell anymore.... Ah yes, I won the last auction on eBay for this at £385 and the seller wouldn't let it go as it didn't go as high as he wanted (...
