Re: Mavic Cosmos Freehub probs
This freehub fits various models of wheels and there must still be thousands of these around. I have no trouble finding one in a shop on the net so my guess is that your shop either want to sell you another set of wheels or should find them self a new supplier.

Re: Cycle Magazine subscription?
I'm interested in this too as l will be moving abroad soon. I got a quick reply saying: "If you decided to purchase the magazines separately you would need to contact our national office to order the magazines, they are £3 each, not including P&P. Our national office number is 0844 736 845...

Re: Cycle Magazine subscription?
Thanks Mick! It's not that I don't appreciate the work CTC do. But I'm already a member of the two Swedish organisations and three local cycling clubs witch all offer this type of insurance so I think I'm covered. I'm also a member of eight other organisations and feel that I need to limit the amoun...

Hello Join up to CTC and get the magazine? Or have I missed something here.? John. Only the existence of a world outside of England. Dont worry it is a National trait. John & Meic, I'd love to join and thought about it many times. Find the free articles I've read in the archive section to be ve...

Cycle Magazine subscription?
I'd like to ask if it's possible to sign up for a subscription of Cycle Magazine?
Reason for me asking is that I don't live in the UK so my guess is that I have little use of the benefits of being a CTC member.

Re: Advertising in CTC magazine.
Good point's Meic and Si. I feel very strongly about attempts to influence media and media's own self censorship as it seem to become ever more frequent. Wish I had the opportunity to read the review and Mr Blance response, so if anyone could send scan and mail/post a copy I would be very grateful.

Re: Advertising in CTC magazine.
I think some of you failed to see the point of this discussion all together and should go back and read the first post made by Meic. The debate is not if you're for or against SJS/Thorn goods but Mr Blance letter and mags policy. Please stay reasonable close to the subject or start your own thread! ...

Mick, after all the trouble I've gone through digging up old links, the least you could do is click them!

Re: Low-pressure tyres for rough roads
Yep, Schwalbe (re-)created a hole segment with their balloon tires for both 599 and 622 ISO wheels. I think the Fat Frank in white or brick colour look the business. For more performance oriented audax and touring I'm told the the Grand Bois tires has superior comfort and rolling resistance. http://...

Re: Mavic Cosmos Freehub probs
Thats right but it's so easy you don't need a shop to do it for you. The freehub part you need is no: M40319 (Shimano) or M40323 (Campy). Here's the spare parts reference: http://www.tech-mavic.com/tech-mavic/technical_manual/data/tech-mavic/uk/sources/Produits/ROUTE/Roues/Cosmos/CosmosSpareParts.pd...

Re: New life for an old Mercian
Yes, the angles are the same. It's the length that is the issue. One is too short for the other, and I can't remember which is which. If you have a short BB taper, it doesn't mate very well with the "long" C/S taper and can cause problems. The other way round is absolutely fine. This is a...

Re: New life for an old Mercian
That is what I thought until I read this article by Sheldon "It as never given me a lick of trouble" Brown. Velo Orange explanation goes a bit further and blast the myth that JIS and ISO have different angles. Something I was told and believed in many years ago! Without knowing I have used...
