GPX files
Can anyone tell me if I can or how I can send a GPS file (to Audax) just using my iPhone or iPad? I haven't got a computer or laptop. I have sought advice and have looked at www.ourmrsmith.com/audax but its still not clear - to me anyway.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: cycling to Italy
Have to disagree on a few points: I cycled to Naples 6 years ago and to Imperia 2 years ago, both times over the St. Bernard pass. It's only steepish for the last 5 kms up to the top and the gallery section is not a big deal; there is a hard shoulder and with rear lights on no problem. The noise of ...

Re: Devastated! Heart Attack at 59. Former fitness gone fore
Good advice chaps, and very helpful. This last week I've been out cycling and feeling much better for it. Keeping heart rate below 120 (12.5 mph average!)on Tuesday I did 50 miles with a tea break half way. Taking your advice I've listened to my body and things are progressing. Today I had enough af...

Re: Devastated! Heart Attack at 59. Former fitness gone fore
Thanks guys, there is some really sound advice that I really appreciate. Sounds soppy but it's uplifting to hear such positive encouragement from you all; it can be quite a lonely place if you let it fester. My consultant is a keen cyclist and is keen to get me back in the saddle. I am planning to b...

Re: Touring with prescription glasses
I have a pair of Optilabs photochromic byfocals that I use for cycling. Been on many tours. Frame snapped after 4 years but Optilab were very generous and replaced with a minimum charge. The only issue I found was when riding into a dark tunnel from bright sunlight. The photo chromatic response is r...

Re: Devastated! Heart Attack at 59. Former fitness gone fore
Thanks guys, I think it's more a matter of me coming to terms with it all. You are all right of course; slow and easy. Hopefully back to some kind of fitness by the Summer. Doc. Said heart condition is one third lifestyle and two-thirds genetic. My father had his first heart attack at 50! The good n...

Devastated! Heart Attack at 59. Former fitness gone forever?
What I thought was heartburn after a tough (for me) Sunday club ride turned out to have been a heart attack. At least that is when the doctor says it accured .. I went out again on the following Wednesday and did another 60 miles (Garmin recorded average 3 degrees c, average 16.5mph, average bpm 130...

Cycles Direct very poor customer service
Really appalled by the way I have been ignored by both Fixed Gear Frenzy and Cycles Direct with regard to an order I placed for 2 new tyres. Placed order on 08.10.14 and to date no sign of the tyres. Despite numerous emails I've heard nothing. 21 days has now passed. They were quick to take my money...

Re: My first tour (I didn't make it)
Steep learning curve but you will sort it in the way that's right for you. Lots of really good advice from very experienced sources. The only thing I have to pick up on regards the shoes you cycle in; you said; Sandals - Very good but a bit slippy on the pedals if the bottoms got wet but dried quick...

Which way east from Istanbul to China? Iran or Azerbaijan?
I'm researching what route to take to Kashgar China starting in Istanbul. Iran or cross the Caspian from Baku? There are a few reports of 'unwelcoming' individuals in Iran but I am interested to experience this amazing country. Azerbaijan? Don't know much about the country... Either way I will end u...

Re: Anyone done the Trans Am - West to East?
Yep, I cycled west to east Florence Oregon to Yorktown Virginia in 2002. Happy to answer any questions. Wind good, never far from civilisation! I didn't bother with taking a cooking stove. 50% camped / cheap hostels etc. rate the trip probably the best all round cycling experience I've had ( I've be...

Re: Alaska to Argentinia
A good source for research is the website crazyguyonabike. Read lots of accounts of the trip which has been done many times, in many ways for many reasons. I too had ideas of a similar trip but decided that for me it was better to 'chunk it up' into 4 separate trips and in that way you can hit the s...

I cycled to Nordcapp in 2009 from Uk heading across north Germany, Poland, Baltics across to Helsinki and due north through Finland and into Norway. I wrote an account which you can find on www.martinphilpot.co.uk.
Good luck,

Patagonia, Carretera Austral, south to Ushuaia
I completed my first South American venture earlier this year and it was a truly awesome experience. South along the Carretera Austral from Puerto Montt and then south to Ushuaia. Taking time out for treks through stunning National Parks / Glaciers the 3 month venture was amazing. An account can be ...
