Re: Flying with a Bike

Ryan Air have almost signalled the death knell for me touring with my bike by air! Flew out to Charleroi in June with bike in cardboard box. On returning dismantelled, packed and taped bike up in plastic CTC bag only to be told Ryan Air would not accept it! They took me round the counter and showed ...

Yes no problems and quiet scenic. Your route would be Greenfield, Mosley, Stalybridge, Ashton, Portland Basin, Guide Bridge.

Well that's given me some thought for thought. The Canyon Endurace CF was one on my list of 3 but I'll seriously consider it now . Thank you for the information

Re: Newbie turbo trainer advice

This turbo will do you fine and it's a good price, people in my club use them regularly. Personally if you are just starting out then I wouldn't bother with a smart turbo, they are to expensive and much too technical for your needs. Lots of riders buy a turbos at the start of winter, use them a coup...

Retro Ronde in Belgium http://www.retroronde.be/en/145-home Didn't run this year but back for June 2018 well worth the trip over Very nice, Delilah, although I'm not sure my wife would thank me for chasing her up the Paterberg et al! Have you ridden the Retro Ronde? Yes I've ridden it three times. ...

Re: Slater and Gordon.

12 months is far too long to go for any firm of solicitors to go without them giving you an up to date written progress report of what is happening. When you were examined by the medical consultant S& G should have provided him with both your hospital and and GP records and to failure to do so i...

Re: C&G Finishes - Liverpool

Gerry is still working there. In the last couple of years I have had a Bob Jackson, Mercian and Neil Orrell frame all re-enameled by him with a great finish including the decals and I would thoroughly recommend them. (Much cheaper than Atlantic Boulevard) You should check it out but I think it was c...

Re: Easyjet with a CTC bag at Bristol airport

I flew Porto Manchester with Easy Jet in September no problems with the CTC type bag. Just made sure it was nice and tight by sourcing some brown parcel tape locally and wrapping it around a few times. Problem with a cardboard bike box is that you cant ride to or from the airport you need some kind ...

Re: Using Ryan Air to take a bike

No problems for me either. Cardboard bike box out, Ctc type plastic bag coming back as it's easy and light to carry around. Tie it up securely with rope/twine/parcel tape on the return

Re: Carrying spd sl pedals and cycle shoes with cleats as cabin baggage.

I always put my pedals in my bar bag which I take on as hand luggage and have never had a problem. I wear my cycling shoes but they are SPD and a bit easier to walk in.
