Re: How to travel the world with no money?

It makes my blood boil! Rich Westeneres travelling to third world countries and expecting to live off their generosity. I travel to such places to experience their culture but do not expect to sponge off them. They've obviously spent a considerable sum to get there and on their gear but then expect ...

Re: More hostels are going

This really depresses me! I have used all these hostels in the past but I guess not enough.Trying to plan a tour in the UK is becoming increasingly difficult. I usually travel solo, I would like to travel with others but often its not possible. Trying to find decent reasonably priced accommodation f...

Re: Valencia

My advice would be to head south but keep of the coastal road N332 as much as possible and head inland. Denia or Javea are both good places to break your journey from where there are good routes inland via Jalon Valley Parcent and Col de Rates. Villajoyosa is a much more pleasant seaside resort than...

Re: Travel insurance

Regardless of whether it is recommended or not I think if you had an accident where your injuries would have been reduced or minimized by wearing a helmet then any insurance company will argue "contributory negligence" on your part if you claim against them ie your damages should be reduce...

Re: Majorca Cycling

Hotel Son Baulo, Son Baulo just outside Can Picafort. Great deals with Thompsons Holidays. Fine base: in my opinion much better than staying in Puerto Pollensa. Three or four bike hire shops in San Baulo and lots more in Can Picafort. Good for access to all the rides already mentioned and there are ...

Re: Motorhome Cycle Rack

I could but I wouldn't fit a rack to a motorhome. If anything goes wrong then all warranties motorhome or rack will be invalid if fitted incorrectly. Our last motor home did not have a rack fitted so I sourced one privately and had it professionally fitted. All motorhome maufacturers have an informa...

Portugal End to End

I have recently returned from a tour riding Portugal from south to north, flying Manchester to Faro and returning from Porto. From Faro I turned east along the Algarve and spent the first night in Tavira. Then I largely followed the border up through Alcoutin, Beja, and Evora. Portugal has an excell...

Re: Any such thing as an easyish N Portugal cycle camping to

Thanks everyone some great ideas and information, very helpful I just need to decide whether to go up the middle or take the east side and cut across to the border above Porto. I've taken on board the advice and am going to ditch the tent in favour of B&B's. Riding solo I'll probably take a hit ...

bohrsatom
I'm riding a solo End to End in Portugal in September into Faro out of Porto.
I'd be interested in your route if you still have it.
Also details and your views on the accommodation would be useful
Thanks

I heard that the canal paths around Todmorden Hebbden Bridge are out of action at the moment because of the floods earlier in the year so I'd check it out
