Re: Is Labour finished?

Labour probably missed a trick by refusing to work with others. But, I wonder, is Labour finished unless it learns to (a) rid itself of the dead hand of the unions and (b) be prepared to yield a little ground? Personally, I'm OK with Labour's links with the Unions and, overall, I think it has a pos...

Even in the 1997 'Labour landslide' most people didn't vote for Labour (the Labour vote share was 43.2%).

Assuming you are comparing the last two GE's then Labour's vote actually fell from 40.0% down to 32.2%.

Pretty sure it was 111mm like the old 'Mirage' from the 1990's (I think Mirage came in 1994 or 1995).

Re: 5000 Britain First extremists join Tory Party

Hmm but what about the 2 million Facebook followers they had? It's 2 million 'likes' not followers - not quite the same thing. 2 Million is rather a lot in any case, don't you think? It's at least 2 million have visited the page and found it an attractive ideology. I genuinely wish it was zero like...

I really think people should take this story with a pinch of salt. Britain First doesn’t have 5,000 members. Not now, not ever.

Re: ** The General Election Thread **

I have always had a theory that MPs are affected by the same rises in basic living costs as public sector workers. My plan is simple. As they obviously "NEED" that level of pay rise, so do the others. 1st April, MPs announce their pay rise, then the same is applied to every single public ...

Re: 5000 Britain First extremists join Tory Party

Personally, I take the entire story and the figures with a big pinch of salt. There is no way these 5,000 creeps have joined the Conservatives. Voted for them? Maybe. Even if the story and the figures are true (they aren't) then 5,000 peeps have left an obviously right-wing extremist party that onl...

Re: Itching all over

I wear bib shorts virtually all year round and get this on my lower legs from the cold drying my skin and especially around where the elasticated band is. Try moisturising.

Re: Feeling a bit cranky today...

If Santa needs a pointer, the torque wrench kit that Wiggle is selling for just 25 quid is surprisingly good. The bits are hard and the wrench is convenient to use – a lot more convenient than the discontinued Park Tool beam-type torque wrenches that I now have instead. Thanks to a big hint to 'er ...

Re: Parking in Cycle Lanes

We've got a right muppet down here who has parked one of those advertising lorries in what was the entrance off the dual-carriaeway into a car sales place. This entrance crosses a well-used cycle path and the lorry is right in the way. You can either slow down and squeeze past on one side or turn to...

Re: How was Cycling 2019 for you?

For the first nine months of 2019 I was retired and really didn't make the most of it. For the last three months I've been part-time and have really enjoyed commuting the 10-miles each way. Overall though, not the greatest year for mileage and I'll only just get to 5000km. Desperate for a drier 2020!

I see you boys still haven't quite got the grasp of this democracy thing have you? How's that then? No one's denying thr Tories won the election, let's now see what they do with it! That's good to know because some on here are still playing with figures and conspiracy theories to show otherwise (on ...
