Re: Private hearing aids.

Erm...Pembrokeshire; so covered under Hywel Da Health Board. Up to now I've been fairly happy with the NHS treatment but I get the impression they don't think they can do much more for me and to be honest, I'm not that confident that they really understand these latest digital aids. We don't have an...

Re: Biscuits brake road bike under 2k

Many years ago, my father, who was a painter and decorator, had a wealthy customer who complained that his chair was too close to the fire. I kid you not: instead of moving his seat a little he had the gable end of his house moved. You have to eliminate the obvious first. Of course, it is possible ...

Private hearing aids.

Hi folks, I'm currently on my third set of NHS hearing aids, being upgraded each time over the last 5 years due to my (now) profound deafness. The ones I'm on are supposed to be the top of the range and are purported to counteract tinnitus as well. Sadly, they're not proving too effective, as my hea...

Re: BBC Bias again

I occasionally catch an episode of Newswatch, where members of the public can have their say on topics raised on the BBC. Usually the presenter puts forward the issue to the producer of the programme or clip concerned. Never have I come across such arrogant, self-righteous people as them. Initially ...

Re: Cymru am byth - we love Wales!

And as well as the coolest flag on earth I think the Welsh have the best surname:
Cadwaladr :)

Although, my Mum's maiden name of Tudor comes a close second
And as my maternal grandfather married a Jones, I'm feeling decidedly Welsh this weekend.

I feel a couple of corrections are in order: Cudgel's assumption that there are no large and speeding BMW's in Pembrokeshire is well wide of the mark. Sadly, they're ten a penny down here with hundreds of youngsters driving round in them thanks to the wonders of low rental rates. And Brynpoeth's qu...

If I'd have thought, I would have taken it with me to Cardiff and donated it to Pedal Power.
It's truly enlightening to see all the disabled folk getting so much pleasure from riding the specially adapted cycles through the caravan park and out into Pontcanna Fields and Bute Park. :)

Ah well, over 1500 views and no interest shown.
Looks like I'll have to strip it down and try and flog some bits off it.

Re: Britain's 'angriest town.'

Yes, I agree. There really were supposed to be around 1,000 new homes to be built and the rumour-mongers brought up the gossip about loads of unemployed Brummies moving in. The concern was that wherever they came from there'd be no work for them around here. The development was reliant on Sainsburys...

Re: Britain's 'angriest town.'

I pity those poor people in Birmingham as their heads must be spinning. First of all they're supposed to be going to Haverfordwest (where 1,000 new homes were to be built for them) then they thought they were off to Cornwall and now Mick tells them they're bound for Newcastle. It'll be Liverpool nex...

Come on guys, get with it. There was a report t'other day saying cassettes were back in vogue. I recently binned all mine at the tip and now find they are going for a couple of quid each. Mind you, now deaf as a donut, I flogged most * of my vinyl last year and my precious Pink Triangle...

Oligopolies can always cross-subsidise until a new store/hotel gets established: they'll have done their research. J.[/quote] A few years back a fellow village resident of mine, a shop owner and quite an entrepreneur opened a large grocery store in St.Davids. That too was met with lots of local opp...
