...a simple tip for dodgy computers is to cover with a piece of clingfilm, tie in a knot underneath and slip a tight elastic band over the computer onto the bracket. Not only does it keep the computer dry, but it also stops pesky kids from nicking the thing quickly while you pop into the shop!

That's one hell of a day ride julk, Dalkeith to Delamere. Much respect, as they say somewhere or other. For nostalgia's sake you could try the transporter bridge in Newport, South Wales although that's currently out of action. What about t'other one? Isn't it in Middlesborough or did it really get s...

All interesting postings to an ex-Runcornian down here in W.Wales. The last time I cycled over the bridge, it was fairly quiet; mind that was back in 1967! I've a friend down here who has cycled all over Europe and also tandemed across USA twice. He cycled from Pembrokeshire up to Lancaster a couple...

I've also recently been diagnosed with spondylosis (mine's in the thoracic region - that is higher up!) and although I am waiting to see the consultant, I have been told to carry on cycling and try and stay as active as possible. It seems it is important to keep good muscle and core strength and I a...

Didn't think this applied to the Raven, as I've never seen one with drops yet.

While it would probably be OK to have 32 spoke front wheels, what would be the point? 36 is perfect for the rear and unless you are hoping to shave a few grammes off the total weight of the bike, there is no point in changing your front wheel for the sake of it. It's actually getting harder to find ...

In general a good guideline is for the top figure to be round about 100 plus your age. The bottom figure should be well under 100.
So Beakyboy, it looks like your 10 year old body is doing you proud!

I've got two Thorn bikes, both 26" wheels. The first I got was a Brevet and was purchased because it wasa short top tube version, on a 47cm frame which suited my 5" 6" body 9perfectly proportioned I may add!). When I bought my Raven, I thought I would need another short top tube. Howe...

Welcome Kev. I agree with most of the other suggestions except for the comment about the gnarly tyres. In my opinion there's nothing more frustrating than having them on a road bike as you almost always get disheartend by the effect of the drag and friction of them; more so if you can actually hear ...

Mark, I know we've been here before, but this sounds like a good reason for fitting Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres. I bought a Pashley Paramount bike for my son to commute to work in Peterborough (not from Pembrokeshire I hasten to add). His previous bike always suffered from punctures but luckily the...
