Re: Lidl shoes

I think Lidl must have over-ordered cycling shoes this year. They've been in the "remaindered" stock bins in my local stores most of the year, as well as being part of the weekly offers at least three times. A couple of weeks ago they finally removed a batch of around 30 or so boxes of the...

Re: Lidl shoes

I was going to ask if someone could notify me when Lidl have walking boots in.
When I looked at the website for the cycling shoes mentioned above, it turns out it is walking boots that are on offer.
So, thanks for the tip-off Bogmyrtle. :)

Gents, apologies for delay, but I don't often look in this section, but as it's a wet day today..... Yes, Walsh, I am a member of the Freewheelers. I take it you have seen our rides list and you are obviously welcome to join us to try us out. Did you send a query by any chance via our webhost, as he...

Re: The Wizdom of the Young

I'm too young to remember the original spangles, but I can confirm they were jolly tasty in the 90s! Well, I'm old enough to remember them from the late 50's but can't remember all the flavours. I'm sure there were blackcurrant ones and even liquorice flavour at one time. But my favourite was a but...

Re: Up on high ground, dodging showers

Yeah, great photo Patrick. The only thing I know about Winter Hill is that is where "our" TV transmissions came from, as a lad in Cheshire. We're now off the Preseli one in Pembrokeshire, which has just been half switched to digital and our clockwork TV won't yet pick up a signal. So, it's...

Re: Home Harvest

Using salt against slugs: seconded. My wife says it works. Well, you'll have to be careful where you put the salt, 'cos it'll also kill the plants as well as the slugs. Our remedy (look away now if you're at all squeamish) is to go out each night with a torch as it gets dark and snip the blighters ...

Re: Hair today....

And be careful what you ask for on the continent. Watching the World Championship athletics yesterday, Welsh lad Dai Green sported a shaven head. He was asked what happened and he said he asked for a number 2. Unbeknown to him, in Germany a no.2 is cut to 2mm, hence the fine crop! Think I'll stick t...

Ooh no, I don't think so, those words seem much too long and complicated.
I don't think I should google to find out what it was, I think it's better off gone.

Re: Still Swearing

I don't think mw is being fair to Mick and from his postings (Mick's) I don't think one could ever consider him a prude. mw says we are all capable of exercising judgement, but it has already been exercised in the ruling that swearing (even thinly disguised) has been disallowed. I hope mw doesn't th...

Well as Si is acting like the Cod almighty, I suppose he's well and truly scuppered us, with the net result that this posting has truly been over-fished.
