Re: ** The General Election Thread **

Seems the Tories are rerunning Brexit with nothing substantial to offer

Their entire campaign seems to befalls accusations about Labour, and trying to outbid with the bribes to the Voters

Re: Highracers - any experiences or advice ?

Off topic, but high racers make me smile. Back on the early 90’s I bought a trice from Peter Ross

He also had a racer that along with the Kingcycle are a clear predecessor to the modern range

Mind you this (and Peter Ross) was the entire range available in the UK

Re: Highracers - any experiences or advice ?

My experience is across the range not with high-racers.

My Challenge bike is I believe the first Hurricane raced in the UK and has elastomer suspension

In my experience a moving seat can alter the centre of gravity and affect handling more than an adjustable boom

Re: ** The General Election Thread **

Given that the country is more or less evenly split over Brexit just as at the referendum (we can't absolutely know without a referendum!) it is no surprise that parliament was similarly split. It will not be a surprise if we end up the same in December. The great irony will be if Farage and Johnso...

Re: 'London Bridge City' "clamping" bikes

A few years ago, there was a similar dispute , and the guy involved started up a campaign to lock things to the offending fence... they became a tourist attraction and everything from kids bikes to fridge doors became locked to the fence

The now defunct website was hilarious at the time

Re: ** The General Election Thread **

My concern is that there is more happening that Brexit, yet Brexit is becoming the "standard" Just look at the posts here discussing where each party stands The General election should be about the thousand other things that are of concern locally and nationally. One example would be UNiv...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

The problem with Brexit is that it was always offered with no idea or plan to implement the reality Then we set deadlines that were impossible to meet That led to the extremist "Get us out at any cost" mantra For me, we need to take a step back, think about the reality and how this can be ...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Our democracy is either by plebiscite or parliamentary representation. It cannot be both. If you try to make it both, as we have done, the consequences are there for all to see. Impossibly competing demands. It was the failure of the organisers to either have a REferendum question that was valid or...

Evening Playmates, Corbyn has just run out of the chamber before he had to respond to a JRM dig about running away from a GE for the third time. Even he SNP got ridiculed for that fault? Fun and games. IGICB MM See above... No-one is running away from an election, they have the sense to see through...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Certainly the EU introduces rules. But what is the EU? It is an organisation of which the UK is a member and around whose table sit our own government. The Parliament includes people we elected. The problem was not that were NOT represented, but that we were POORLY represented. Had our MEPs (Farage...
