Re: Munich onwards

I cycled this last year over 2 days. I cycled along the river to Landshut (very pretty) where I camped for the night (nice campsite by the river on the north-eastern outskirts). I then cycled due north to Regensburg, I can't remember the exact route but it's all nice gentle countryside round there. ...

Re: Child trailer recommendations

Thanks very much for the advice. Does anyone have any experience of the Edinburgh bicycle coop roller kids trailer?

Re: Regensburg to Prague Cycle path

The 2 campsites I used in Czech, while certainly not up to German standards, were perfectly adequate. They had toilets and showers, a very small shop and a restaurant/bar. It may be a good idea to pick up food in town rather than the campsite shop if you're planning to cook. As I said, food in Czech...

Re: Regensburg to Prague Cycle path

Hi there I cycled this back in June. You can get a little booklet for the route at the tourist office in Regensburg. It has everything you need; detailed maps, campsites/hotels marked on it etc. The route is pleasant if not spectacular, mostly on quiet roads or paths, and only a couple of steep sect...

Re: 2 person tent - 150 quid budget

Thanks for all the advice I'm thinking about the Wild Country Duolite or the Beyond Meteor 2. If anyone has any more info about these two it would be greatly appreciated. One more thing, as I'm new to cycle touring, when camping with your bike howdo most people usually secure their bikes at night? O...

2 person tent - 150 quid budget

Hi there Looking to buy a 2 man tent soon and am budgeting about 150quid. Any particular recommendations? I'm aware that there was a similar thread a few weeks ago but that guy's budget was twice mine. Looking for something light and strong. Will be for touring in the UK and hopefully Europe. Also, ...

Ladies Hybrid bike 200quid budget - recommendations?

Hi there Am looking for a ladies hybrid bike for a friend who lives in Portugal. She wants it for going out on day rides, and would like something that can also handle forest tracks. Ideally she would also like something with eyelets for a pannier rack. Her budget is 200quid. Any advice would be gre...

Hi

Yes I got it from The Bike Factory in Chester, I picked it up but I'm sure at the time postage was about 14quid, 60 seems a bit steep. I think it's only the 55in frame that is 310. Still very pleased with it so far, would certainly recommend it for the price.

I decided to go with the Royal in the end as the price seemed a good deal. Rides nicely.

First touring bike - Raleigh Royal?

Hi there Going to invest in a new touring bike soon, am currently deciding between Revolution Country Traveller or Dawes Horizon, both of which I have read loads about on the forum. However, I have also noticed that the Raleigh Royal 2008 has a steel frame and I've seen one for £310. Does anyone hav...
