Re: Visitors - can we eat them?

Have they come back yet?
It is Friday and I am having a fish pie.
I'm not Catholic though.
Tesco deliver here so I can get fish.

Flooding.

It rained so hard today the shop where I work flooded. We had to sweep out rather a lot of water. Customers were queuing in a rather large puddle. All dried out for now. Has anyone else suffered in this rather extreme weather. It's either sunny or bucketing down. I work in Cheshire where it's fairly...

Missing Tomatoes.

I bought some four packs of plum tomatoes the other day. They were a more expensive brand which I don't usually buy but they were half price. I have opened two tins so far. They just contained juice. No tomatoes. I can't remember where I bought them so I shall email the company directly. Has anyone ...

Re: making a too-big bike more suitable for a smaller person

I'd forget trying to make it fit. Sell it and buy one that is the right size. I spent years being uncomfortable on bikes that were too big. IMO you'll need a bike in the 13 to 14 inch frame size. Specialized do a tiny 13 inch frame in the Hardrock or the Rockhopper. Treat yourself to a new bike in t...

Re: A few tips

Most of that gel stuff and energy bars is fine past the best before date.
I have yet to try my rhubarb flavour gel.
The Torq bars are my faves. Nice taste, enough carbs to keep me going but virtually indestructible.

Re: Are you built for cycling?

Actually there aren't any chip shops round here!
The nearest shop is four miles in any direction.
I am surrounded by fields, tractors and combine harvesters.

It's very scenic here, and quiet.

A saddle advice section.

Mods could we please have a section for advice on saddles and saddle comfort?
This topic comes up a lot.
It would be useful to have it all in one place.
Thanks cc.

Re: Yet another saddle issue

Mods we need a "sticky" on saddles in the "too good to lose" bit.
It might be better to put it all in one place.
This topic crops up again and again.

"Are you built for cycling?"
No-sumo wrestling. I'm 5ft 4 and 2 stones overweight.
Even when I've eventually lost the weight, nothing can be done about my short legs.
Cycling makes me hungry too.

Re: A few tips

That many Mars Bars will make your teeth fall out en route.
Much better would be some home made flapjack and bananas.
Fruit cake is good and so are sandwiches.
You need carbs and protein plus plenty of fluids.
Electrolyte tablets are good and easy to carry and help with minerals lost through sweating.

Re: Personal Information.

I thought someone might work out where I am. Not a problem unless I post something controversial. A bloke on another cycling forum was the victim of bullying. He did post things like where he lived and worked. People got nasty but there are no mods on there. I read some scary stuff. I thought the bl...
