Re: 26" Wheels on a 29er. Daft idea?

The handling was brilliant. The wheels didn't feel odd at all, it was very responsive with the 26" fitted. Why don't you try to get an older mtb steel frame and fit drops? It will be canti or v brake but it will cost less than buying a 29er frame, fitting 26" and then deciding you don't li...

Re: 26" Wheels on a 29er. Daft idea?

Jem, Unless you've got a frame with an eccentric bb I would advise against it. My peregrine had one so I could adjust the pedal/floor height. I used 26" wheels because they were a nice dt Swiss on xt hubs pair that I didn't want hanging in the shed, secondly 26" tyres are much more readily...

Re: Carradice Zipped Roll - what do you think of it?

Now "bumper" with all those mods on your spectacular Tricross have you built in a cable adjuster for the rear brake ??? I've got some sleek inline adjusters but haven't fitted them, it doesn't need it. The new dura ace wheels are 100% true and the koolstop tectonics are very slim and extr...

Re: Carradice Zipped Roll - what do you think of it?

 As we all know, the internet was invented for porn.......... errrr I mean bike photos  The zipped roll is a really use bag, usual carradice quirks and quality. It holds a fair bit but may be too small for a bagman qr. It would work fine just strapped to a brooks or one of the saddle bag ...

Re: Carradice Zipped Roll - what do you think of it?

If you click onto my blog link & scroll down it a few posts , I've put some pictures of it with proper dimensions. There's also a few of it stuck to my bikes to give you a size guide. I've got 2 and use one as a bar bag and one strapped to the top of my bigger carradice bag on the rear. They're ...

Re: Pictures of your bike(s)

Thanks for the comments. It is a peregrine running 26's not the usual 29's, the brakes are the avid bb7s and are excellent at scrubbing speed even when fully loaded. I love this bike even though it isn't the lightest or fastest bike I own, it's just so comfy and dependable, it does everything I ask ...

The winter bike in a recent trip to wales. Excuse the blurry shots, I was using the phone and it was that windy I couldn't keep the phone still! http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k131/djb1971/13032010078.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k131/djb1971/13032010074.jpg

Re: Those MASSIVE roundabouts in Crewe

Glad it was of some help. If you walk from the train station, it's about 200 yards to the first roundabout and you can use the footpath to avoid going around it then get straight onto Weston Rd.

Enjoy the ride

Re: Those MASSIVE roundabouts in Crewe

After leaving the station turn right at the 1st roundabout along Weston road. That's the end of busy city traffic, you are now leaving Crewe. You will then reach a small roundabout which you can turn left at and it'll bring you to the last large roundabout by the b5077 but if you go straight( 2nd ex...

Re: Advice on Carradice camper longflap

Thanks for the advice, especially the gap needed below the bag to remove the bracket. I'm popping over to the lbs to take a look at one because I don't want it to hit the guard, unfortunately a rack on this bike is a definite no go :(

Advice on Carradice camper longflap

Hi, Can anybody tell me if this http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s73p1040 will work ok with my longflap? http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s73p51 I can't get a bagman support from anywhere and the bag is wobbling about a fair bit just on the straps. I also plan on fill...
