Re: Keeled over walking dog
I often feel faint after standing up. I have phases of it where I almost always feel dizzy after rising when at home but not often when in the office at work - perhaps because I’m typically rising from a lower position at home. I usually have to lean on something or bend over when it happens but luckily I’ve never had an accident.
I’m not currently going through a phase. I’ve never sought GP advice for it, but then I don’t tend to for most things.
I own a BP monitor which typically indicates I’m at the low end of normal.

Re: 'Oat milk'
An argument for dairy often used is that the land can’t be used to grow anything else as though every square inch of land must be productive. What’s that about?

Re: 'Oat milk'
I use oat milk with coffee. It certainly tastes better than soya but it”s not very nutritious AFAIK so I use sweetened soya milk on cereals.

Re: Who's had the vaccine?
Also, I’ve seen no explanation of exactly what the hospital admission strategy should be if the virus was left to do its thing - ban all COVID patients?...after letting them wait for a test result?

Re: Who's had the vaccine?
Back on topic, I had my first dose of the “Oxford” vaccine this morning.
I’m feeling a bit crap at the moment, which I was hoping would happen so I know it’s doing something.

Re: Best wishes for Brucey
It’s distressing news and words fail me but I very much echo the sentiments expressed by everyone else with regard to wishing Brucey the best possible recovery and how much I value his contributions to this forum.

Re: Who's had the vaccine?
I was able to book my vaccinations today. 29th March & 14th June at a pharmacy 1 mile away.
Or should I say vaccination?

Quite so.
It’s disappointing to say the least, to see European countries, one by one, apparently jumping on the bandwagon.
I'm not sure about other European countries, but as for Norway, they are simply following their medical procedures. Frankly, they have generally followed scientific recommendations throughout the pandemic, and I have pretty high confidence that they will make the right decision with regards to this vaccine. I'd rather they were a little overly cautious than otherwise. There will always be differences in how governments & health systems handle things, but people don't doubt government advice in the UK because of the decision by the Norwegian government. They doubt it because they lack confidence in the advice given by the British government. That has more to do with other decisions, than this one.
Well I guess Norway isn’t in the same situation as the others where the rollout has been halted (and the bandwagon hadn’t started rolling properly when they made their decision). As Spiegelhalter has said, in a pandemic you haven’t always got the luxury of fully applying the precautionary principle, it’s a balance of probabilities.

And how many do you think would have died without lockdowns or vaccines?
You say the sums don’t add up but if you showed us your calculations everyone could see exactly why you are wrong.

My post crossed with this.
That's interesting, and it could imply that the reaction isn't to the other components of the vaccine.
It might be answered by surveillance studies.

I think this was also mentioned in one or two of Tim Spector’s updates about the Zoe Symptom Study.

I just linked a Guardian article.
I think the situation in Europe has been made worse by irresponsible comments by some leaders and the aforementioned decisions in some countries not to approve the AZ vaccine for over 65s.
It’s perfectly reasonable to have doubts but do you just have a fear of this particular jab or a fear of all medicines or of needles in general?
