Last Sunday I stayed at Conwy YHA for one night. £25 for one person in a private En-suite room with four beds, I couldn’t really complain.
I have tried staying in dormitories a few times previously - doesn’t suit me.

I’ve seen a number of appalling examples of poor police driving over the years.

Re: Changing disks and pads
I find checking the pad thickness to be rather a pain, particularly with BB7s because I usually struggle to get the pad+spring assembly back into the calliper without it all becoming misaligned.

Re: DELVE group publishes evidence paper on the use of face masks in tackling Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
My local Sainsbury’s convenience store had a strict policy of limiting the numbers in the store but that seemed to disappear as soon as the mask policy was announced i.e. a couple of weeks before it came into force.

Re: Masks today, helmets tomorrow?
I seem to remember reading that the evidence for social distancing and hand washing is no “better” than that for masks, i.e. there are no randomised controlled trials for any of these measures because it’s not practical. As for constantly adjusting the mask, I don’t go to shops much so this isn’t re...

Re: Masks today, helmets tomorrow?
The empirical evidence for any protective effect of masks (as worn by the public rather than fitted to properly trained medical staff) is marginal at best AIUI, there’s plenty of evidence that they significantly reduce the dispersion of droplets from the nose and mouth. Intuitively, one would expec...

Yes but the paragraph quoted implies that helmet wearing may lead to less risky behaviour. Unfortunately I’m too lazy to read the report so I don’t know if any supporting evidence is supplied for that assertion.

DELVE group publishes evidence paper on the use of face masks in tackling Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
I was reading the key points here https://royalsociety.org/news/2020/05/delve-group-publishes-evidence-paper-on-use-of-face-masks/ and noticed helmets mentioned in this paragraph: ”While there is a suggestion that use of masks might make individuals engage in more risky behaviour, at a population le...

Pub - I cut my own hair. However, I won’t be rushing to the pub either.

@Horizon My apologies if your opinion has changed but I seem to recall in a previous version of this thread that you were sceptical of the severity of this outbreak and your reference to “cause of death” issues rang alarm bells. There may indeed be “issues” surrounding the recording cause of death (...

However, I do have issues with the over-medicalisation of health. So the extraordinary spike in deaths recently (or “excess deaths”), is just a random fluctuation? I understand my own statement and I understand yours but not the connection between the two. Help please. You also said The disagreemen...
