Re: Cycling shoes for cold / winter use

Overwhelming choices folks. I discovered a Sketchers outlet yesterday and leaver sports style shoes but not trainers for £49.00 approx. Seem a good choice and narrow enough if I need to use a front toe cage. Black or brown being default shoes but sensible, reasonably grippy soles for gripping pedals...

Re: Cycling shoes for cold / winter use

I saw these last year BUT can they be ridden without clipping in, ie as normal footwear? Thanks.

Cycling shoes for cold / winter use

I'm sure someone has probably asked this before but I can't find the links. I have been out the last few days in quite sunny but chilly weather. I am no wimp but my current shoes have a mesh surface so my feet; after 30+ miles each day, were freezing. I don't clip in due to issues with arthritis in ...

Re: Parish Churches

At the risk of possible repetition, have The Commonwealth War Graves: Individual Gravestones been catalogued? They are our first point of call when visiting any church whether rural or urban.

Garmin Edge survived washing machine

I bought my Garmin Edge at least 4 years ago. It is the 200 series. So far stood upto everything the weather has thrown at it. Final proof of its waterproof qualities; it survived a 40 Celsius wash in our washing machine. Nope, it wasn’t a test just human stupidity. I forgot I’d left it in my jersey...

Solar Keratosis

I have had a diagnosis of Solar Keratosis for the last 5-6 years. It mainly affects my brow and scalp. Every few months, I have to use Solareze which in effect burns off the affected skin. It isn’t very pleasant to look at; shades of German measles and can be very painful when I put on th E45 as a m...

Catford LBS

I went to a LBS, in Catford, for a bar bag and some other bits. Only staff in sight was relaxing in front of the computer and asked cursorily what I wanted. Begrudgingly mentioned the range but beyond that, I could have been a cold caller. Left with my budget of £100+ intact. More help round the cor...

Re: Romney Hythe and Dymchurch

Thanks for all that. It was for an elderly friend who was worried about making it in face of a stiff breeze.

As a matter of interest; to me at least, does the RH&D have a cycle policy? Thanks for any info. Mike

Garmin Edge Explore GPS Cycling Computer

Hi, Anyone have this or have experience with this? Is it worth the £215.00 aged for it on Wiggle? Ease to upload maps or use onboard maps plus Battery life would be the areas that matter. Many thanks, Mike

Right, panic over. I can retrieve my planned route for a weekend sortie. Interesting that Richard himself took time out to reply. Thanks all.

Cycle Travel Website

Is it just me or has the website gone down today or much worse still, has it 'gone' totally ? Tried on 4 different devices and can't get any sort of site identification or entry and my wifi is running well.

Re: 29'ers Are Faster Than 26 "

Strangely, I have a 27“ or thereabouts mtb; steel at that. Race past roadies on some short hilly sections but scoured on the flat or downhill. Good luck to the ebikers, I’ll need one when I’m 75

Re: Helmet Storage

Thank you all very much for all the responses. Hooks in the under stairs cupboard will have to be the place.
