Re: Trangia bottle on underside of bike with bike buddy

Thorn Club Tour and a Thorn Sherpa. Club Tour 700c and Sherpa 26"
I admit it looks close to cranks but I never had any bother.
Best regards,
John

Re: Trangia bottle on underside of bike with bike buddy

I’ve a Trangia fuel bottle, the large one under down tube at the side of crank. No problem although it looks like there should be!

Re: Hilleberg Soulo Tent - Questions

Niak 1.5 or 2 - It is all in the marketing. The Unna was sold as a 1 person even though it was generous, the Niak was sold as 1.5 perhaps recognising that generosity. I think it was last year that they changed the description to 2 person, although it would be snug just like most 2 person tents. The...

Re: Hilleberg Soulo Tent - Questions

..... At present I have a Niak 2 person (2018) which I think is going to be a tent I hold on to because it is lightweight, spacious and easy to erect. Good for UK weather all year in my opinion. John I see the Naik vestibule is only slightly larger than that on the Soulo (Naik 25" at widest po...

Re: Hilleberg Soulo Tent - Questions

Considering: Getting a Hilliberg Soulo. Questions: 1. Is the design (free standing, less material unsupported by poles) better in avoiding fly sagging should the material stretch? 2. Is the heavier material less prone to stretch (compared to lighter materials)? 3. Is the Soulo vestibule or space OK...

Re: Bells Palsy

Thanks for the wishes.
Steroids indeed and the complaint is most uncomfortable, inconvenient and overall debilitating. Difficulty eating drinking and sleeping. My right eye has to be taped down at night because I cannot close it. Difficult condition all in.

Re: Rivaroxiban - side effects

I couldn’t get the inr right on the warfarin until I found buried in the small type an admonition against cod liver oil tabs, which I take or at least took. Elsewhere it gets blamed for atherosclerosis. I’d rather have swollen ankles but am not offered a choice. Hello, I had similar problems. I ASK...

Re: Rivaroxaban - side effects

Hello, Amongst other medication I too take Rivaroxaban. I have been taking it for three or four Years with no ill effect. I used to take another pill which made my lower legs swell dreadfully. The cause was Amlodipine one of my BP tablets. I take the medication because I have suffered not one but tw...

Re: AUK Finances

I had an email today from the head honcho at Audax UK, saying they have to put their membership fees up to pay for their new website. An increase of £4 to £23 a year. It's likely that ride entry fees might go up as well, as they are increasing costs to organisers. I'll still affiliate as I consider...

Re: Do you find it harder to take risks as you get older?

Hello, When I was young I had a spell as a motorcycle racer. When I was a little older I had a spell as a motor car racer. As I grew older I became a Driving Instructor (ADI) and qualified as an Institute of advanced motoring tutor. I was indeed pretty good at these activities. I am 68 and fast appr...
