Re: Comments in the classifieds

The convention of not passing comment on sales threads if you are not interested in buying is sadly for a reason. It would be fine if everyone only commented if they saw something fraudulent, misdescribed, vastly overpriced etc, but cycling forums (and others too I'm sure) are full of funny buggers...

Re: Your thoughts about the Camping & Caravaning Club

. . . if there is anyone still out there . . . . I've been trying to plan out an ad hoc, mini-tour to try to get back into cycle-touring. A sample of campsites near the target destinations leaves me gasping at the price demanded for a solo camper with a small tent. e.g. £17 for a single night. Is t...

Comments in the classifieds

And if the bit about you visiting when you are in the area you are more then welcome That was regarding someone else that owes me an apology and money. Without prejudice I think that sales listing should be left as they are posted. No comment from persons not interested in purchase. I have noticed ...

Re: TV licensing...

Hello,
As far as I am aware, watching iPlayer on a computer is classed as requiring a TV Licence.

Re: TV licensing...

Thanks TC. I have no intention on non-compliance if anyone calls. No point in compounding the issue. I would be interested to know what type of person doesn’t have and never does, watch TV. Weird ........ If you trawl back through this thread, you'll see our story. Briefly ........... We are of the...

Re: "Decide for yourself"

The question it seems is why doesn't CyclingUK follow the spirit of its own published policy on helmets? https://www.cyclinguk.org/campaigning/views-and-briefings/cycle-helmets There's nothing obvious in there about the depiction of helmet-wearing to illustrate articles about cycling more generally...

Having read and re read, my own opinion is that, CTC is now (?) run by a bunch of wet Liberals.

Re:

What the OP us saying (and I agree with) is that a "you choose" policy is nonsensical. It isn't a case of choice - either the helmet protects and one wears one accordingly or it/one doesn't. False dichotomy. It's possible helmet use doesn't protect for everyday typical cycling including t...

Re: M1 crash - can someone explain

Is twice the limit completely intoxicated? I don't know but would have thought if the limit is where it's deemed 'safe' to drive, then twice that might not be all that drunk, too drunk to drive safely but not completely incapacitated so much that you park on the motorway for 10 minutes. How driving...

Being drunk on a Motorway in charge of a HGV or in a mobile is disgusting. They both deserve locking up! End of....,,.

Re: Ant McPartlin arrested over drink-driving collision

Charity as in time spent doing stuff for the charity was what I was talking about. It's the physical activity for charities that get recognised for honours among the prominent entertainment types. What would a Celeb do that is any use to a charity? The only thing they are capable of doing is appear...

Re: Ant McPartlin arrested over drink-driving collision

Addiction is an illness. You can't attribute idiot or buffoon status to someone affected deeply by addiction IMHO. Rational thought isn't possible in the same way a sober individual capable of. Indeed. I thought society had moved on generally in its understanding, but there may be individuals who h...
