Re: Ant McPartlin arrested over drink-driving collision

Charity as in time spent doing stuff for the charity was what I was talking about. It's the physical activity for charities that get recognised for honours among the prominent entertainment types. What would a Celeb do that is any use to a charity? The only thing they are capable of doing is appear...

Re: Ant McPartlin arrested over drink-driving collision

Addiction is an illness. You can't attribute idiot or buffoon status to someone affected deeply by addiction IMHO. Rational thought isn't possible in the same way a sober individual capable of. Indeed. I thought society had moved on generally in its understanding, but there may be individuals who h...

It was an amazing takeoff and returned booster rockets. But the best and greatest thing ever to go into space, is the continuous loop tape playing Starman from David Bowie which is simply wonderful. Day ride brewing up tackle

Whilst I do have a great selection of stoves, I’m an old fogy and carry a thermos flask☹️

I have used them for over 40 years with camping stoves and never had a problem.

I bet you have gas lights at home, and a black and white TV? :D :D :D

Re: Gas cooking on a Trangia - views?

I have a Trangia 25-6 and have run it on butane/propane gas with Trangia's OE gas burner since day one. It has been brilliant. Far better than using meths or such similar taking an age to boil water and cook food. Of course it works! it is like buying a petrol fuelled car and running it on Calor Ga...

Re: Gas cooking on a Trangia - views?

Hello, Whilst I see that some people prefer to run on Gas, I see a Trangia as what it was originally intended to be. That is, a Methylated spirit all complete stove. The fact that a Gas kit is available is not the point as (in my opinion) the manufacturer is simply trying for extra custom hence sell...

Re: Isle of Purbeck

I am planning an upcoming tour that is going include the Isle of Purbeck. There have been favourable reviews of the Woodhyde campsite but I am concerned that it is on an A road. Is it possible to cycle from Corfe Castle to Woodhyde with a reasonable degree of safety. Are there any recommendations f...
